We sent our passport to London after the PPR from toronto, got it back in just over 2 weeks from the day we sent it. So fast! And landed at the Niagara Falls border...flagpole style except we got admitted into the states and went shopping first. So easy and such a smooth process, literally spent 5 minutes with the immigration officer to become a landed immigrant! Feels great, good luck to the rest of you!
Did you have to pay any fees when you crossed back over and became a landed immigrant?
also did you get the London visa office to send your passport back to your Canadian address? if so did they send it recorded? fed ex?

Nope, no fees. "sign here, sign here, initial here..." and that's landing! We had the passport sent to Canada, gave them a regular envelope and they sent it back insured, some sort of courier i guess but I'm not sure.

thanks for the reply married2brit !!
i sent my passport to them on monday via fedex.. cost me $65!! but it was worth it =)
hopefully i get it back quickly!

Has anyone had any updates from London lately? Is it me or do they seem to be moving very slowly?!

I've also been keeping an eye on previous months applications through London and although I would have thought that September would have had some sort of contact by now, when you go back to August, they seem to be getting a lot of the PPRs through, and that sits within a three month time period, so I'm not too worried at the moment.

Hi MandiF,

I see from your dates that your file was transferred on 19-11 and your app was received in Mississauga on 22-10. If you don't mind me asking when did ECAS update for you? My application was received on 19th October in Mississauga but I still can't get anything on ECAS.... I'm starting to get worried now as to why I haven't received anything yet.

I could first log onto ecas on 21st Nov and it showed on the same day Decision made. It hasn't actually updated to say that the file has been transferred but as the decision was made, and there isn't an option on for DM, I just put it in there. Seems a bit strange that you can't get onto ecas at all, although this has been known to happen when they may have inputted your sponsor's name incorrectly.

You are trying to log on using your receipt number and sponsor's details aren't you?

The letter hasn't yet been received though, so maybe that will be the first you find out?

Yep using the sponsors details, but it still doesn't come up with anything!! I'm hoping it is just a mistake and our application has been forwarded to London!! It is so frustrating not knowing...

Dont worry, i couldn't log on to Ecas until i had the visa in my passport in my hand :)

HI guyz hi need help.

CHC london asked me for additional documents. I went to the CHC london by myself and dropped the documents in the box provided there. Can any one tell me that how long they take to process the additional docs and is there any one who dropped the documents into the box there. Becoz i thought it will be quick.

For additional docs its anyones guess how long it'll take :( Could get lucky n just take a few weeks or could still take a long time! What point of processing are you at?

In other news, my boxes are FINALLY in the same country as me again after 6 months :O And still no sign of my PR card despite me sending off another set of photos as the incompetence of immigration apparently means they can't keep hold of the origional ones...

Have any September applicants heard anything from the London visa office yet?

NOOOOOO!!! It's driving me crazy. We've been 'in process' since 22nd October. I'm getting worried because my fella has to go abroad with work at the start of February so what do we do if the PPR comes in January??
I assumed they were all out celebrating the royal engagement, but maybe they're all out protesting with the students....or they're snowed in under the massive 6 inches of snow they've had!!! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that I can wrap a visa up for Christmas though :P

Wow they really have slowed down eh? Although I guess no news is good news in some ways....I don't even have a hope of hearing anything until you do - I'm 2 weeks behind you! :s hope you hear something soon, keeping my fingers crossed for you!! :)

You too Suze. It's just so frustrating because they were processing so quickly before and now seem to have completely stopped! I'm sure there'll be some news soon - I've been extra good this year and the only thing on my crimbo list is a visa!!!
