Thanks Andrew.

I have a second line on eCAS saying they started processing my application on 6th October.
I'm not sure if it's helpful info for the spreadsheet, so thought I'd share it.

congratulations on your marriage :)

as the spouse of the applicant, your finances are not really taken into account when determining whether you are eligible to be a sponsor. however, there are some other people in this forum who are dependent on their parents, and they have included letters and documentation from the parents indicating that the parents are willing and able to assist financially. all CIC needs to see from a spouse is that there is a plan in place for how the applicant will be taken care of.

the fact that you are student will have absolutely no bearing on how long the process takes.

this is the CIC website which lists the average processing times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp you can see the difference in how long an inland application takes vs an outland application through the London office. each option has its pros and cons.. nobody can tell you which is a better option because it comes down to personal choice - can you and your husband afford to be together for an extended period of time with him not working? can your relationship withstand the strain that financial hardships can cause? are you able to maintain a long-distance relationship for an indefinite amount of time? just a couple things to keep in mind when making the decision. good luck!

My boyfriend (=common-law partner) and I are both students, and the processing time for the sponsorship approval part of our application was in line with everyone else's processing times. My boyfriend was also briefly unemployed when we sent the application (he has a new job now), but even that didn't seem to matter. We got the sponsorship approval in 61 days. Being a student or otherwise low-income doesn't matter, as long as you're not collecting welfare in Canada.

Hi there,

I received an email from the Canadian High Commission today asking for me to send them 4 new photos, but didn't supply an address.

I have the address for Canada House in London, but I wonder if there a specific office that I need to send it to. Has anyone had to do this before and might have an address?

Seems like a positive sign. It must mean that they have already begun processing and thank god they didn't send the whole package back!!

After 14 months of filing of our application and more than 4 months since we had re-med, we have got another re-med request. I don't know what CIC is upto? There are many people after us who have got DMs without even re-med.

Checked ecas just now and we are "in process". :o

Hey

I've received an email today stating I have to get fingerprints done and an RCMP police check?!

Does this mean something may actually be happening :O

Has anyone had this request and what did they do? Just go to local RCMP station?

Thanks in advance :)

mrsb2014, beckybrit, The PubLandlord, GISGeek, sausageboyuk: spreadsheet updated.

beckybrit and The PubLandlord I put your in process date as today's date.

Beaverdiva we have your in process date as September 28th, either way there isn't much difference in those dates.

mrsb2014 I think you are correct in that you should go to your local RCMP office.

Andrew Correction please: "In Process" date is still Aug 10, 2015. This is the second time re-med request, we took first re-med on May 28, 2015. Please give your expert advice why they have asked us to take re-med again? Like previous re-med, they have asked to take X-ray and physical only.

I wonder if them asking for new photos means that processing has begun? It does seem unusually early, so surely it must be a skim through the docs to check everything is there before adding to the pile..?

The spreadsheet did not have a record of them asking you to do a remed. When was the first remed request? In your notes it says the initial medical was done on the 24th of July, so asking you to do the first remed in May seems strange as you had 2 months left.

It could be that they never received your medical results from the first remed request. Have you confirmed with them that they received the results?

Thanks Andrew brit.
Got an appointment at rcmp station next week :)
I'm now "in process" on ecas and have also had a request for the RPRF.

Feels good to have some progress!!
