Hello everyone. I just wanted to pass on an update since receiving COPR. I moved to Canada in early June and have been living in London Ontario. I have got a job and am making the most of the summer having been reunited with my partner.

The landing process went very smoothly. I got off the flight at Toronto and went to security as usual. I mention to the security guy that I had to land as a permanent resident and after going through all the usual security stuff I was sent to a room to 'land'.

I went on and after a brief wait a very helpful lady went through the basics, checked through my documents and applied for my PR card (Which 10 weeks later i am still waiting for).

I have to say that the week I landed was spent getting drivers license, bank account, SIN and registering for health care, but it really was a smooth ride.

The hardest part about the whole process was saying goodbye to my family in England.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting patiently. It really is worth the wait!!

10 months since applying....we finally have IN PROCESS!

Address is not updated on ECAS though so hopefully it goes to the right place since they requested our current address on June 30th!!

Congrats! I wouldn't worry too much for your address. Ours never changed on ECAS, but the change had been made in the file (I called CIC twice to check when we went IP). We received everything at the right place :)

What does "in process" basically mean? I just checked mine this morning and mine is in process too.

We can all be safe in the knowledge that they're prioritising Pakistani applications over applications of UK citizens.

Do you know that for sure? and if so, how?

Just checked ECAS this morning and we are now "in process"!! Seems like London is picking up the pace! We applied November 2014.

I wouldn't waste your time :) my wife worked in Canada House for UK Govt departmen and frequently popped in to try our luck; at best we got surly indifference from one receptionist, the other one gave us the email address for case specific. We even got told once that they don't do the processing at Canada House, which we knew was wrong.

Update from thread re in process: On August 12 I took a screen capture on ecas of my partner's application and it said 'Application received'.

I emailed the London VO to let them know of our change of address; I got a reply saying they'd received the enquiry.

Today, August 15, I checked again and now it says application 'in process'

Maybe they are going through the applications faster - fingers crossed for all!

Hmmmmm lots of people going to 'in process' but no-one seems to be progressing beyond that to 'decision made'. Just a ploy to keep the ever increasing desperate mob from the door?

We were "In Progress" for almost 5 months. What I found out from GCMS Notes was once we went IP they started our security, criminality and background checks (that took a couple months). Once that was cleared they sent our application back to Mississauga to have Sponsorship reassessed as a Married application instead of Conjugal application. Our application was treated in the same time line as a new one submitted so that extended our wait another couple months. As soon as we got the second approval from Mississauga we received DM. Considering we had an extra bump in the road I would guess that it should anywhere from a few weeks to 8 weeks for straight forward applications to get DM. Fingers crossed for all those waiting.

Who knows what goes on! My notes from March 2015 show I passed eligibility in December 2014, security wasn't started, Criminality was in progress as of December 2014, RCMP checks passed December 2014. I went to 'in-process' in July. So the checks were mostly started way before that status change in ECAS.

All we can do is wait and see, and hope this is a sign LVO is speeding up ::)

I'd like to add my information to the Timeline for Family Class Sponsorship.

Application received in Mississauga: 2 June 2015
Type: Conjugal Partners
Sponsor approval : 29 July
Processing Office: London
"In Process" on ECAS : I only went online to check the status for the first time on August 6 and the PR application status was already "In Process" but I don't know when the status was actually put there. It says that the application for PR was received on June 2 and that the Medical Results have been received, but other than that, there is no other information.
PA Location: Cork, Ireland

Is it normal that it shows that both the Sponsorship Application and the PR Application were received on June 2? Will it eventually show me when the PR Application has been received by the London Visa Office?
