Hi all.... its a while since I have posted anything but with nearly 15 months having gone by since we applied I need to pick your brains please. I am literally freaking out!
So, we applied in May 2014 and our file was eventually transferred to London in September 2014 (long story but we had one incorrect form which delayed SA.) Then, in February 2015 we received an email asking for further evidence that me and my now fiancee are in a true relationship and I am committed to moving to Canada. I appreciate sham marriages still happen, but I have been in Canada since late December 2014 because we had had enough of being apart. I gave up a very well paid job to come here as a visitor, in Winter. How much more committed can you get?
Of course we replied with a long letter, and explanation to answer their questions. Never has our file changed to IN PROGRESS, it has only ever said APPLICATION RECEIVED (May 27th, 2014).
Anyhow, in June I emailed them (again) to say that my medical had run out and I got a reply saying my file was with an officer for review and they would apply for an extension for my medical. I had also asked about my police certificate, as they too are only valid for 1 year, to which they replied 'After an officer has reviewed your file you maybe required to get an updated police certificate'.
In the last couple of days it now says DECISION MADE. Hence, freaking out.
My mains questions are I haven't been asked to send them an updated police certificate or supply passport photos, as some people say they have, does this suggest the decision is more likely to be a NO? And, how long does it normally take the letter to reach Canada? I really don't know what to think... and am honestly trying not to sound too negative. It is just so frustrating, especially in the sense that our application is very straight forward (or so we thought).
Any advice or info will be most welcomed!
Amy
