Does anyone on know if the process can be different for applications in the visa offices depending on what country the applicant is from?

In my case Im a little confused cause Im from Sweden so my office was suppose to be London but my application was sent to Ottawa instead, not really sure why since it seems like thats were the US applicants are beeing processed?

Will my process be any different from theirs? Can I expect the same timeline as the american applications? I know we have a very straight forward application, no criminal record, lots of proof of relationship, no dependants etc....

I'd love some input! Thanks!

Process will be the same, but the processing time varies among offices.
Also the ottawa is relatively quicker than LVO coz LVO takes alot of cases from different countries and region as well..
So you should be happy, coz Ottawa cases r solve in some 6-9 months time....

all the best,...nothing to worry !!

Hey all! I'm preparing my common-law PR application, hoping to have it done in a month or so. I just checked the processing times and London's had jumped up to 29 months! It was about a year when I last checked. Since I'm currently living in Canada on a study permit, should I apply inland instead? Would that be any faster? I was really hoping to get PR by the end of summer 2016, but I guess that's pretty much impossible now. :( Thanks Harper.

does it come before passport request or after?
Uhm, after, since they need to stamp your passport first so you can actually enter Canada.

I have a couple of questions..

1 Do I, as an applicant, have to Land in the same city as written on my COPR or I can land, first time, anywhere in Canada?

2 Can there b a possibility that COR expiry date is 2 months more, from the date of medical expiry..why is it so in my case then?
In this case, is it safe to land before a week of COPR expiry OR should I land before my medical expires?

thanks and all da best!!

Can answer number 1 for ya, you can land anywhere in Canada, doesn't have to be where it says on your form :) I think if its in quebec though you need your csq to go with it, so avoid quebec unless destination hah

The increase was due to the Islamabad backlog that was transferred to London in 2013/2013. Non-Islamabad apps are still being processed at the same speed. Check the spreadsheet. DON'T apply inland.

Go by the COPR expiry.

I do not see you in the London spreadsheet. Would you like to be added? If so please provide the following info:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Keep in mind that not everybody is on the spreadsheets. They may have approved 15 apps monthly with only a few of them active on this website.

Hi,

A question..
If the baby is born outside canada (if one spouse is citizen while the other is PR), will the baby be canadian or no?
also parent is not a citizen of Canada by birth.
The baby is 100% Canadian by descent. As one of his parents is Naturalized citizen. However, when the baby grows up and has his own baby will not be considered Canadian unless born in Canada. Your baby is the first generation Canadian citizen by descent but he cannot pass on citizenship to his own babies if they will born outside Canada.

Following is the link for more understanding. Please dont get confused by posting same question on different forum pages, simply apply for the baby's citizenship.

Really hoping London picks up processing times. Just had a quick look at spread sheets (and by quick look, I mean I'm a geek and secretly study them). In March London approved 5 apps, in April 3 and so far in May 2. There are 80+ people ahead of me on spread sheet so at that rate it could be nearly a 2 year wait until they get to 2015 applications! I am only 3 months in, I can only imagine how all of you waiting a year already feel!
According to the official version of LVO, they are currently working on files moved there in the months of June – August 2014 (as per some forum members’ communication). You are right, the London outland spreadsheet shows only two DMs whereas the spreadsheet of Pakistani applicants via London shows there are four DMs plus atleast two more approvals this week.(spreadsheet not updated though)

I have a feeling that now LVO is working more rapidly on files moved directly to LVO instead of going to Islamabad as compare to UK applicants. Most of the July/Aug applicants have been either called for re-med or interview. Just hoping for the expedited approvals for everyone.
