Does anyone on know if the process can be different for applications in the visa offices depending on what country the applicant is from?
In my case Im a little confused cause Im from Sweden so my office was suppose to be London but my application was sent to Ottawa instead, not really sure why since it seems like thats were the US applicants are beeing processed?
Will my process be any different from theirs? Can I expect the same timeline as the american applications? I know we have a very straight forward application, no criminal record, lots of proof of relationship, no dependants etc....
I'd love some input! Thanks!
Generally, the Ottawa spreadsheet will be useful for you tracking your app through Ottawa. The timelines may not be exactly identical, but it might give you a bit of an idea. The country does have something of an effect, but I'd expect there to be less of an effect if it's all western countries. (For example, UK and US applications through Ottawa don't appear to be much different; British and Pakistani applicants through London are vastly different.)

Hey all! I'm preparing my common-law PR application, hoping to have it done in a month or so. I just checked the processing times and London's had jumped up to 29 months!
It was about a year when I last checked. Since I'm currently living in Canada on a study permit, should I apply inland instead? Would that be any faster? I was really hoping to get PR by the end of summer 2016, but I guess that's pretty much impossible now.
Thanks Harper.
Read the FAQ, the spreadsheet, and pretty much any post on this thread as it has been discussed a thousand and one times. Seriously, 10 seconds of searching would have found you the answer.

COPR received from London!!! All done...cheers guys for all the info and support! :-*
You aren't on the spreadsheet, it would be great to add you, AndrewBrit has posted everything we need from you... it's a great way to say thanks. Though I'm guessing you're now disappearing as you have COPR. Anyway, it would be nice to get you on there.

I have a couple of questions..
1 Do I, as an applicant, have to Land in the same city as written on my COPR or I can land, first time, anywhere in Canada?
2 Can there b a possibility that COR expiry date is 2 months more, from the date of medical expiry..why is it so in my case then?
In this case, is it safe to land before a week of COPR expiry OR should I land before my medical expires?
thanks and all da best!!
1. No, you do not have to land in the same city, but I would not suggest landing in Quebec as their process for immigration is slightly different.
2. Ugh, please try to write in proper english, it's so much easier to read. Anyway. COPR will be issued with an expiry date of one year from your medical. If that date is too close, then read the FAQ on what to do about expiring medicals. It explains the possible routes CIC will take, and how it affects you. You will have to land by whatever date is on your COPR document. Doesn't matter if you are right on the date (my husband landed 4 days before COPR expired), as long as you land on or before the date your COPR document expires.

Here is the link of the "Timeline of Spouse Sponsorship for Pakistan Applicants", which I was referring to. Comparing it with the one you and Schnoo maintaining will give you the better idea. There are many Pakistani applicants who are in the first timesheet but not in the one you maintain.
Yes you are right sometimes people don't bother to respond, but I will let you know if there is any progress. On a weekly basis I track both the sheets with microscopic eyes, so far London timesheet is fine and updated.
Sending you a PM about this.
