When was your ecas changed to decision made??

It wasn't. Ecas still only shows "Application received".

Hello everyone, I have received a request for passport photos, passport photocopies and updated information chart. My question is - do I need to send passport copies and photos for me and my spouse (who is my sponsor) or just myself? We are both in Canada already.

Just the Applicant PP copies and Photos,
Also on updated form, only fill your particulars (eye color, height, PP expiry date...)

good luck

I am asking about Sponsorship section not the PR one.

I'm not following...

Our Ecas hasn't changed at any point since we received AOR, aside from showing that meds have been received. I received the SA email this morning, and Ecas has remained the same.

If the PA logs into ECAS, they can only see the PR part of the app. If the sponsor logs in, they can see both parts, the sponsor approval and the PR part.

As a sponsor I've been unable to access Ecas with my info, only as the PR using my partner's date of birth and last name. I've tried both the application number and UCI (with hyphen and without). Didn't realize that both should work, hence my confusion! So no not sure when we got DM for this portion.

We received SA today. Looks like ours got sent to London :(

Sorry to hear, at least your SA is done now and on track.
Looks like more are going to London again, crossing my fingers my SA comes through soon and is Miss.
Not grumbling either way though, as a lot of people have said 9-10 months for the process is pretty quick.

Pretty rough though :( but really can't complain, glad we have the opportunity to do this. Unfortunately my partner just had to change his status to visitor, so 10 months twiddling his fingers and being unable to leave the country doesn't sound great. Hoping things go smoothly for you!

He's under no obligation to stay in Canada as he's an outland applicant, that's only for inland applicants that are advised not to leave Canada. Your husband can travel as much as he wants. :)

They should be able to leave the country no? Not being able to work definitely sucks though.

My motto through out all this if I ever get frustrated or annoyed is, it's a privilege to emigrate to another country, not a right.
I thank countries like Canada for being able to do it, let's see if I still think the same way in several months time!

Yeah it's just the not wanting to be apart, he can certainly leave but if he wants to come back as a visitor that may not work out so well.

/complaining

I agree with you CanadaCanary, I myself emigrated from Russia as a kid so I definitely value that the process is available to us. It's just a shame that the Mississauga/London thing is just the luck of the draw.

My husband visited me often while I was here and we were waiting. I believe he re-entered Canada a total of 7 or 8 times during the process, every time on visitor status and he did not have a problem. He would tell the customs agents that we were in process for PR and that he was visiting me and they seemed to be alright with that. He only got a hard time once but it wasn't anything major.
He did also maintain work in the UK so perhaps that helped? But if they can see that you are going through the right channels to get PR then I think it should be alright.. correct me if im wrong, anyone else? :)

My husband has had no problems coming back into Canada since we applied for PR and that was over a year ago. He also came 4 times before we put in our application, no problems then either. He even told them he was coming to get married lol . The only thing I say to him is not to bring in anything they can pull you over for, so there went my Bisto ...
