Also i lost my passport but had my visa (IEC working holiday) in a another file. Do i have to order a new Visa or can i photocopy that visa and explain what has happened? Everything is the same apart from the passport number.

Thanks

Honestly, read the FAQ! At least look! http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spousal_Sponsorship-Canada/FAQ#What_parts_of_the_application_get_sent_where_and_when.3F The majority of common questions are answered there.

As for the IEC question, I'm not sure. Might be worth posting that one in a new thread.

Is it advisable to send a renewed Police Certificate before being asked for one? FYI, the police certificate is only valid for a year after its issuance. My wifes police certificate expired in February.

They will ask if they need it. Who knows they may have already completed background check on her and will probably never request it.

Spreadsheet updated. If you look at the spreadsheet you will see that most Mississauga applications just go straight to DM, not many go In Process, so I would say not long now!

Hi everyone,

I have a question that I know I've seen on the boards before, but can't seem to find now.

My partner, whom I am sponsoring, is currently on his second IEC visa, which is expiring shortly. I understand that he can apply to change his status to "visitor", and that we must disclose that we are waiting for PR, and show proof from CIC that they've received our application, that we've paid, etc..

I notice in the Q&A sheet that it was mentioned that one must also purchase a plane ticket out of Canada, to satisfy immigration officers that one won't overstay, in the event PR isn't granted. Should we worry about this?

We had applied March 9th, and so far have only received AOR, so not sure how much longer we will be waiting.

I'm super worried about the visitor visa being rejected. Any insight is greatly appreciated as always!

My husband applied to renew his visitor visa and we just got confirmations today that it has been extended for a year. With the application we submitted proof that all fees were paid for PR, sponsorship approval letter, and proof of funds. We did not submit proof of a return flight. We submitted the application a month before his visitor visa was due to expire but you can submit it up until the day before it expires.
