Glancing at the spreadsheet, Miss seems the quickest by far and Ottawa and London seem similar. Is that correct?

On the Home and Statistics tab you can see a breakdown of processing times for each visa office. And yes, Mississauga is the fastest however bear in mind that in 2014 London visa office received 3 times the number of applications than Mississauga and Ottawa. Obviously there are people applied who are not on the spreadsheet.

Furthermore, Mississauga had no backlog to begin with so they would have had a crazy fast start, and we can now see Mississauga and Ottawa slowing down.

1st post, "landed" today

I've been lurking for the past few months but really thought I should share my really positive experience of the process of getting my Permanent Residency.

I'm from England and my wife is Canadian, we've been married for 12 years and have young 2 children aged 7 and 4. At the end of a March last year after debating with each other should we make the move, we got the ball rolling.
The children and I got our medicals done in May, followed by my criminal record check. Then we completed our "pack" paid all our fees up front and sent the lot recorded to be processed. 1st my wife's sponsorship part of the application then mine was sent (as I guess you all know) back to London and was received in July.

We decided we would take a chance and make the move anyway and wait for the decision on my application in Canada and arrived here in Vancouver in November. We arranged to have our post in the UK forwarded onto our new home in Canada.

Last Friday I was very happy to receive the letter confirming my application had been approved, I then had to phone to make an appointment at the nearest CIC office to have my paperwork signed. I was told this would take a month. This Monday morning (12th jan) I received a call asking me if I would attend today on Jan 15th. Obviously I said yes.

Walked into the office with my wife and walked out 30 mins later all done.

I'm shell shocked really to see how quickly the process can be when everything goes your way. A little over 7 months from receiving the application to being signed off.

I was told my card should be around 30 days, but presently there is a back log and it could take a couple weeks longer.

So for those of you still thinking about taking the plunge. It's worth it.

Thanks so much for sharing your positive experience, it is definitely encouraging. So far, things have been smooth for us - SA just shy of 60 days and our file has been transferred to Ottawa. We currently live in the UK (I'm the Canadian sponsor and my partner is Aussie/British) and we are debating how best to plan moving back. Exciting and nerve-wracking. Life in London isn't great financially as I'm sure many of you know but as my partner can't work in Canada till the PR, we're trying to guesstimate when PR might come through and how we can afford the transition to be as smooth as possible.

Your experience gives us some food for thought as we weigh the options. Following your chance to move ahead of time and wait out the mail sounds pretty "easy". (especially as we have submitted everything upfront and the file is in Ottawa) As tricky as the planning is, I remain grateful that we are fortunate enough to have choices of where to live, how to live unlike many others.

Might be a silly question, but just checking. We've just moved house (still in the UK, just different address) and I want to notify CIC. Looking on their website it says to notify the embassy or high commission for our region (ie: London). By contrast, our SA letter indicates that we must call the Call Centre to notify of a change of address... Also, our application has been sent to Ottawa as part of the pilot-project.

1- Should I call the Call Centre, email Ottawa or send a smoke signal to London? What's the best procedure?
2- We're applying through Québec. Does anyone know if we have to notify MICC separately?

Any guidance will be much appreciated...

Email LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca, they update within a few days. It says 28, but it only took me a few days each time (I updated my address three times).

At least on my CSQ it said that if the sponsor should move, he/she should inform MICC/MIDI about the new address by calling, until the applicant gets PR. Don't know how important it is, but at least my spouse called them about our address change just in case.
