Does anyone know the difference between criminality and security?

We have been stuck on criminality for 5 months which my MP said is done by a third party but when I got my gcms notes today it says security not started. Ugh

I think Criminality refers to crimes which would not necessairly risk the security of a country. But security refers to terrorism etc? Just a guess...

It would be for Permanent residence as this is the part you are waiting for?

Yes, I think you have to be very close to the posted processing times before they would get involved

You can order these notes - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/DEPARTMENT/atip/requests-atip.asp

Complete the online request. It is fairly self explanatory. Just make sure to order your electronic notes not the physical file. It takes 30 days to receive. It is a really good source to see where they are at, and the officers make personalized notes that can indicate initial impressions on your file. For those interested I can private message you what my officer has said about my file to give you an idea of what to expect.

It also shows you what steps are and are not completed. For us eligibility is passed and so is medical. Criminality is in process and security is not started.

Try a different riding... some MPs are willing to send enquiries even before the time is up, so it's always worth a try...

Do I have to wait now till 11 months we had emailed them back at the end if January of this year and got the reply that it was awaiting the review of an immigration officer. Any help is much needed. Left a message at my local MPs office awaiting a call back from her. Any help is much needed. Thanks

Ok great. So for that 3 month period I heard it is advisable to purchase medical insurance, can you recommend any companies?
