Quick question. Just had the 8 immigration photos taken ,but it don't say anywhere in the checklist or instructions if i need them dated or stamped by the photographer. I had 4 dated and stamped left the other 4 ,or should i go back and get them all done just to be safe.

Western Europe photos don't need to be annotated as far as I can recall.

Basically they all get left blank? No dates, no nothing?

Unless it specifically states in the instructions that you have to do something, you don't. I couldn't see any where that mentioned annotating them in either the generic forms or the Western Europe instructions (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf).

Does anyone have an idea if the LVO will be asleep for the whole of the holidays or do you think we can still expect some progress to be made over the next few weeks before the New Year?

Thank you! I couldn't see anything either.

From looking at the 2012 Spreadsheet people were getting Decision Made on Christmas Day! So there is hope of movement at LVO over the holidays.

This is good news, and totally unexpected if I'm honest. I was expecting them to be shut down for 2-3 weeks over Christmas. It is Government, after all.. ;) Thanks for the heads up, ghunter.

Considering my file's been done for a while now, can I request my GCMS notes still? And can I get the physical files? While I'm at it, who's name do I request it under, me or the wife's (she was the sponsor)?

I never thought I'd ever order the notes, but I'm kind of curious now...

I ordered mine about a year after I'd finished. I put it in my name, then they emailed back to ask for permission from my husband (the Brit) for his permission to release the info. I suspect you'd get the request either way... maybe try doing it in the sponsored person's name.

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted on here since last year but wanted to let you all know that my husbands PR only took a total of 6 months to come through and that was with them returning the application once to for us to add more information and one email from London asking for more photos (which they lost when they sent me the application package back.)

My only gripe and warning is this: if you decide to have your partner stay here in Canada as a visitor as we did, you will have the option of going to the US border to do what the US called Flagpole. But be advised it is a lesson in too much power and paranoia on the part of the Homeland Security folks. It sounds really easy but the not so pleasant American Border people interrogated me for 45 minutes and I don't exaggerate, they had an issue with the fact I changed my name years ago and was married before. They were accusatory and rude. I have no police or criminial record either. (I am a full blooded born right here Canadian and hubby is British born). They asked questions that made no sense to me since I was not actually "entering the USA" nor was I doing anything that should involve them. It was pretty awful to say the least. They didn't say a word to my husband. Eventually (with nothing to hold us on any longer) they led our car back to the line to drive back to Canada and we were 20 minutes in the CBSA office and they were lovely and kind.

So do be mindful that though it is an option to do the flagpole thing you better not be in a rush and better be ready to have people power trip all over you. After a long 6 hour drive I wasn't in the mood for it nor did I expect it.

Good luck everyone and I hope your applications go quickly and without too many problems.
Take Care
Tori :D :D

Probably a batch update from an internal system. There may even be an "air gap" between the internal GCMS servers and the publicly visible ones. That would require a physical transfer of media between the two parts of the business. Load the media and then set a timed job running to update the public records. Could quite easily happen outside prime shift.

I'm wondering if it is possible that there is an 'air gap' now? I noticed going back through the spreadsheets that most people move between 'in process' to 'decision made' within two weeks - with a few exceptions. There doesn't appear to be any movement from people (like me :D) who went 'in process' in early December. I getting antsy! Another week draws to an end….

I wouldn't dwell too much into it - there is no logic as to why some people go "in process", or straight to "decision made" - it might be that some officers update ecas when they have the file on their desk, while others update it when they have been reviewing it for a while... and others just don't update it at all.... quite a few applicants went from "application received" to "decision made" without anything in between....
Good luck!
Sweden

very strange my ecase went from in process to Application received but a new line added " medical result have been received"
any one experience alike also i can't access with my file no B0000000000000 but can access with client id since 29 nov

Thanks Sweden, I actually got an email from London VO today saying that they have finally put our new COPR in the mail (despite saying on November 15th that they had already done this...).

I called the call center again and they re-assured me that with an outland COPR, even with a landing appointment in the future at a Canadian office, I can still flagpole before this date and cancel that appointment.

Fingers crossed this works this time (4th time's a charm for for us for flag-poling hopefully). It is a bit disheartening seeing applications fly through start to finish in the same time-frame that we have been waiting for London to re-issue the faulty COPR.

ghunter, I can't believe you are still dealing with this. Thats is horrible,

Thinking of you guys because this is disheartening..x
