most likely they're done with that part for you, and as soon as they can match the medicals etc, it should be solve soon ( I know, we've all been telling you it's soon for quite a while!).
Good luck!

I've been telling myself it is soon too...lol I have sent another email on Monday telling them Medicals expire in 1 month and asked if we require new medicals done or if they are asking for an extension.

So just waiting to see if they will reply back.

Oh man, I was hoping to visit the forum and see ScottishMaple with DM by now. Glad they located your medicals though.

To those people having trouble finding work... Don't apply at Tim's! Apparently, they prefer to hire foreign workers because they don't have to pay them minimum wage. I can't remember the ins and outs of it but I was like... Won't be applying there then.

I found a job as soon as I landed, but I don't have a proper job or a "field" or anything like that so it was pretty easy because I was going to do anything that was offered to me. It's so backwards that people with experience and educations and actual careers are having a hard time.

I can't remember who said they were a programmer... You have to get downtown (Toronto). There is SO MUCH work right now, they're crying out for people. My husband is a software developer and he finds jobs all the time. Definitely get yourself hooked up with some recruiters, too. If you're on Linkedin they'll find you and bombard you with messages. It seems that tech companies are way less interested in the "Canadian experience" thing and care more about your work experience after talking to a bunch of immigrants in the industry, so it's a good place to be.

Glad to see lots more red on the spreadsheet :)

In my case yeah. One place I went into with my resume looked at it and said that they couldn't hire me as not all my references were in Canada. I mean really?
I've worked in Canada previously for 2 years, but that was 2005-2007. I never thought not enough Canadian experience would ever be a problem!
Sorry to hear that. Hope things get better for you.

Sounds like it is not quite so much Canadian experience as "I could not be bothered getting references from overseas". Guess I will have to supply those myself.

Hey guys. I got a reply to an email I sent to London on Monday asking when I can expect my COPR.

Good afternoon,

Your medical results were received and the assessment has been completed. All requirements have been met and we will soon proceed with finalising your application and issuing your Confirmation of Permanent Residence form.

Kind regards,
CDD

So I guess i'll be there soon. It's my birthday on the 30th of May. Hopefully it'll arrive on that day. That'd be a great present. Might be able to get my life in order at last.

Well that is a positive email! I am sure it won't be too much longer!

I have been in process for a month now and my address changed 6 weeks ago and still no word :/ On the plus side, I have an interview with the Hyatt Hotel today. Fingers crossed people :)

Happy hump day y'all!

Good luck at the interview!

I've been "In Process" for about 2 months now myself, but that's to do with not getting my medical done 'til April!

Lucky you. Might hasn't even updated as far as "In process" despite them asking for extra information a full month ago.

This is spectacularly annoying for 2 reasons. 1) because the information they asked for had already been supplied in the original application and the person looking at it clearly couldn't read and 2) My IEC visa expires in 4 weeks and I'm close to giving up on the idea that it will be completed, posted and in my possession before that.

But CIC wouldn't really give a shit that you have a job which you'll have to leave or rent that you'll still need to pay.

Are you on your second iEC right now? I was lucky enough to get one of those elusive visas. You are right though, they don't care - for we are only numbers and nothing more than a mere application.

They asked me to provide 4 passport photographs 2 months ago as they couldn't find mine in the application - I don't even remember seeing on the checklist that they asked for them in the first place. Still, there was a lot to go through so totally could have missed it. I hope your application becomes in process soon enough. Where in Canada are you right now?

I used a lawyer so we knew 100% that the application was complete and perfect but still they manage to screw around. Incredibly poor service. I'll be writing an open letter to the minister when it's all said and done because the whole thing is frankly a joke and easy to improve.

I am on my 2nd IEC visa so no further options for me. I live in Ontario.

I received a reply today ....

Please do not complete a new medical assessment at this time. An extension may be possible. We will notify you should the completion of a new examination be necessary.

I have no idea if this indicates anything...you would think with 4 weeks to go there would be some sort of decision about whether to do medicals or not...

The minimum wage applies to all workers either foreign or Canadian.

Someone has been telling you porkies
