Are you married or Common-Law?

So went to service Canada today...got my social insurance number!!
Start work on Sunday, sooooo happy!
I wonder though, going through the US I was given a letter that stated I was refused entry. Is that likely to affect any further trips to the US?

It shouldn't cause any issues.

There's been some discussion as to whether you should declare the fact you were refused entry if you ever visit the US again, but I'm not sure there was ever a solid answer on the issue.

I'm heading to the Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls US later this month as I'll have free money to blow there, so hopefully I won't have any problems! I'll post my experience either way.

I think ultimately, as ever, you're at the mercy of the border agent. I'm sure you know what the US border agents are like - I think this forum would censor the words that spring to mind if I tried to use them here ;D

Thankyou! and Dam I was hoping for 365...lol

Thank you everyone. You would think that they would know that our medicals expire but my faith in them actually giving two hoots is non existing. I think I will email them on Monday as that will be 1 month before they expire. I wish I knew when they found the medical as this would give me some sort of indication of how long they have been reviewing my file....

I hope this ordeal is over for you soon SM. Very unfair of CIC to keep your family in limbo like this for so long. I've gone from checking ecas to checking this thread to see if you're done yet!

Stay strong, you're getting there! :)

Hey folks, there is no need to panic about this. When I first flag poled I was "refused" entry and given a yellow slip that said this too. I panicked at USA customs and asked if this will be a problem in future and was told no it wouldn't and crossing has never been an issue!

Yeeeeeeeeeessssss!! Woke up not only to bf homemade pancakes but to a lively "in process" :) hope it's not a long one but as for now I'm just happy things are moving!!! Can you put it on the spreadsheet please? I'm in process since 15 may apparently but ecas just changed today :) happy Saturday everyone!!

I suppose I can be added to the spreadsheet as well.

Application Received: 14 November 2012
Sponsor Approval: 23 November 2012
Status: Married

Haven't heard anything from CIC since sponsor approval and ECAS still just says "Application Received." We fly from the UK on June 7th and I was hoping (if not necessarily expecting) to have everything settled by then. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks!

Checked ECAS this morning and...... Nothing.. Still 'In process'.. Looks like I'll be taking over from ScottishMaple and seeking out the 365!! Way to go CIC!!

Bit of a blow for us this weekend. As mentioned before I was asked to attend an interview in London on the 22nd, I've been staying with my husband in Canada as a visitor through this whole process and we decided to fly to the UK together for the interview. When I got his passport out last week sometime it had expired and it has been a mad rush since to get it renewed. We had it replaced within a week and our brother-in-law in Calgary picked it up at the office for us, then sent it to us through Canada Post. They were told it was guaranteed to get here by Friday 17th (yesterday) and of course, it didn't. Seems to be sitting at the processing plant in Calgary, if it would only get on today's flight to Vancouver, we can pick it up from there.

We're getting caught out by the stat holiday Monday as there will be no mail. We're meant to be flying Monday night for the interview Wednesday but now it looks like I will be going alone. At first I was so pumped and exciting to be getting this step done, now I'm starting to freak out a little at the thought of going there alone. Eeek!

Good luck for the interview! I'm sure it'll go well, and most of the time London will let you know right after the interview what they think, so you won't have to wait too long... then once it's over they'll send your COPR and you'll be done!
Fingers crossed for you on Wednesday!
