Thanks. I'll wait a month (if I can) and think of a question to ask. My brother in law has spring a quickie wedding in Toronto this summer so we really want to land on that trip else all these flights start to add up!!!

I had better start opening my post more regularly too.

Just ask them for a status update, and even let them know about hoping to land in time for the wedding because of flight costs. I know Michty6 didn't get his visa until he bugged them, and they put mine through because I told them about my work deadline.

I have a question about the six months you're allowed to be here as a tourist, now I know you can easily ask for them to prologue it but here's the case, I came to Canada mid December and got my 6 month entry as a tourist but in January I went on vacation to the states and when I came back to Canada they stamped my passport again so I'm wondering does the 6 months count from mud December or January?! I'm worried since I should renew it if its December but if its January I already have a ticket back to Sweden I June. Thanks for your help in clarifying this for me!

If they stamped your passport do it from January. That's what I did (I had a similar situation) and it was fine.

If they stamped your passport do it from January. That's what I did (I had a similar situation) and it was fine.

Rebecassss is right, just to add...sometimes the Border Officer will write the date you have to leave on the stamp, even if they have given you six months, but not all officers do this...

Confirmed - the clock is re-set everytime you leave the country and re-enter. That's why so people just go to the US border and flagpole to re-set the clock instead of asking for an extension online.

thank you guys, I wasn't sure because they didn't put a date like they have before instead it's a series of letters and numbers that I can't decode but ok good then my personal deadline is set on mid June otherwise ill fly back to Sweden and wait out the remaining time there with my family!!

Hey guys!

Some bad news from me I'm afraid. Things with the Mrs. haven't been so good with all the waiting and financial pressure, so I may be withdrawing my application and heading home.

I really hoped it'd be done by now, and I'd be making money again but it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen and there's too much pressure and resentment. It's a tough process. I didn't think we could handle the separation if I stayed, but I guess you play the hand you've been dealt.

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. Nothing final yet, but I think it's done. For those of you that made it through this hell, I salute you. And for those that are still going, keep up the good work.

He told my wife to expect something by the end of may or abt a month.. So i dont think 3 weeks is enough.
