It says:- A decision has been made on *********** application. The office will contact ************* concerning the decision. Does that mean its all done and dusted? Now where is that Postman!!!!!

Border crossing for me on Sunday, a bit nervous, I don't know why, but exciting at the same time! Anything I need to take with me except the COPR, passport, B4 and marriage cert(well I have a copy of it)??

We sent ours in with the application. We figured we could either ask them to send the application back to us or just buy a replacement. I didn't know we'd need one so soon though!

We sent ours in with the application. We figured we could either ask them to send the application back to us or just buy a replacement. I didn't know we'd need one so soon though!

it's listed on the documents that you may be asked at the border while landing but I haven't seen anybody being asked for it. You should be OK! I think they would ask for it if the PR happens really long after the application started, to make sure that people are still married. But I don't think you'll be asked anything... I applied Common-law so obviously wasn't asked for it - he did ask me (and my partner who was there too!) if we were still together, but more as a joke I think that they will only ask for a proof if something seems not right at the time of landing. Also - you husband doesn't have to be there when you land, it's only an "option" - and partners are not always allowed to go through at customs together...

Are you Visa Exempt? If so, then you do not need a visa!

Just got back from flagpoling at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie. The US immigration man was incredibly nice and we got our administrative refusal form within 10 minutes. Back on the Canadian side was another story. Agent Barossa was a cow. Very rude for no reason and just a b*tch to be honest. She seemed to be confused by the fact that we walked across the bridge rather than drive. Anyways, she used the COPR papers and my husband's passport of course, asked for our address, and that was all we were asked for (no marriage certificate). We didn't get a "Welcome to Canada", nor did we get any sort of intro to Canada welcome pack/brochures that I've heard others have received. Nothing. She just barked the residency requirements at us and told us to go to the Customs agent to fill out the B4 paperwork. Thankfully the Customs agent (Agent Giles) was friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Anyways, it's done and we're happy and exhausted.

you're visa-exempt, so you don't need one. The visa is only to allow non-visa-exempt to be able to board a plane, because airlines staff are not trained to read a COPR and wouldn't recognize it and let people gt on a plane to Canada. in your case, you can travel on your passport and don't need anything else. so - if you got the COPR, you're done, congrats!

I was wondering about that, too - someone said something about it going on their record in another thread, but I can't remember the details. I figured we'd get the esta just to be on the safe side.

It does and it doesn't... you will have to declare that you have been refused entry to the US next time you apply, so it's something to consider. However, you can explain why you have been refused, and it doesn't prevent you to go again to the US. If you're visa-exempt both Canada and US, it might just be easier to flagpole, go to the US for the day (or the 30min that you need to go back and forth), and just not worry about it.
