Oh ok. Yeah we have no kids involved so I don't need to worry about that thank God!
I have been worried about this income issue since the day I have applied. I keep hearing different things regarding it. I try not to think about it too much, because the more i look into it the more unsure I become :P
Just hoping for the best! :)

You've been approved already as a sponsor, so you should be fine! the VO will mostly look at your relationship, to see if it is genuine or not, and the criminal background of the applicant. They will also see for the "returning to Canada" part if you are not living in Canada (that's partially done in Mississauga, but partially apparently in the VO as well). So - for income, don't worry about it. My partner has been approved ( and my COPR issued, even if I have not seen it yet), despite being a student for the last 3 years, having a study loan, and worked only 5 months (summer jobs) in the last 3 years...
CIC needs to see that you have a plan to support your family, and will not go on welfare. there is no minimum income necessary for spousal sponsorship. If you have been approved, it means that you convinced them, so you're good! no need to worry about it anymore.
Hope you can sort out the police certificates soon and get done with the whole process!
Cheers,
Sweden

No good news today from anyone :(

come on london!

Pretty sure that JennyFox was issued her COPR. She is not a member of this forum, think she is part of the British Expats forum but she was definitely red 2 or 3 days ago before the spreadsheet was altered. Can't be definite but also Sarah2012 was red as well. There was a total of 41 people who had COPR before the spreadsheet was altered.

Thank you for your reply Sweden, really appreciate it! :)
I am working on the police certificates, well get them soon and send them as soon as possible.

Can anyone recommend the best sites for finding apartments to rent in the Greater Toronto Area? We were lucky enough to get ours through a friend of a friend this time but we need a new place when we come back in January. Had a look on Kijiji and Craigslist but not seen very much!

I checked for Jennyfox - and from a previous version of the spreadsheet - before it got messed up - I could find her in red with COPR on the 04/11, so I added that. Thanks for pointing it out.
Sarah2012 didn't turn red from what I could see from the previous version of the spreadsheet (found the one right before it all went awry) and could not find a COPR date either, so I'll wait until there is more information from her directly - but now she should be the next one to be issued a COPR, apart from Caddboy whose application has been lost by London VO - so creating delays that hopefully will be fixed very soon.
Fhaider is non-visa-exempt so that probably explain why he has not received a COPR for now (not saying that I like it of course, but stating facts!).
Hope London wakes up this week and sent out decisions !!
Good luck to all those still waiting,
Sweden

I am the queen of apartment searching in Toronto haha.

My favs are:

Kijiji
viewit.ca - really good
padmapper - a new website which is good as it takes ad's from every website and lists them here on a map. At the bottom of the page it says more filters, and u can choose to display places only with pics.
urbanrenters - quite good, but seemed to have slowed down a lot on their listings lately.

If you are looking for condo's in particular, MLS.ca is sometimes worth a try, but not always that great.

Good Luck!

I know how you feel! We are looking at the mo too, but obviously the same as you, don't know where my boyfriend will be working so will probably hold off til things are settled. Most of the rentals are the moment for Jan 1st so its definitely a good idea to be looking :)

I'm really enjoying the padmapper one, as I don't know the area too well yet so its really useful!
I do think I will be looking at a job in Toronto (my boyfriends based in Newmarket, but he does have to travel most of the time from there anyway!) and I'm surprised by how affordable the Toronto ones are, I'm finding ones for less than what we are paying right now! I thought it would be right out of our price range :)

Thanks a lot for the site!

Yeah being in Limbo is the worst thing right now :(

Hi all,
Unfortunately there has been no news on the visa front for me. It has been 'In Process' since October 22nd. I'm not too surprised it is taking so long; as upon review I've realised my common-law application is rather extensive. We had quite a lot of information to prove our relationship and we are not currently living together due to visa and work restrictions, which does impact upon applications sometimes. We will be living together once I get PR though!
Congrats to all of you who have received their visas, especially Sweden as you have been invaluable on this forum for information and advice.
I do hope I'm not waiting too long, I'm hoping December! I will update the spreadsheet whenever I know more news :)

Hi,

I am just wondering which "necessary application form" did you mail?

Please let me know, thanksss :)

I googled XXXXX police certificate (XXXXX being the country name) and found the right forms that way.

Has 'sem' received COPR? There cells/line is red but there is no information....
