It took EXACTLY 2 months, 2 days in Mississaga
It took EXACTLY 2 months, 2 days in London
64 + 63 = 127 days total

What's the best way to send passport from Canada? UPS, Fedex?

I used FedEx as Canadian post were striking at the time and couldn't risk it, sent it tracked for ease of mind :-)

Me too me too!!!! Woke up to PR by email. I found it interesting they requested 2 photos. I wish I knew about that, would have had them ready.. Hooorray!!! It took 2 months, 2 days in London, not bad eh? Bear in mind I lived in 3 countries, so they had way more stuff to check.

Great stuff!

I used fedex aswell, just for piece of mind. Make sure you can track it, and don't put a value on it, otherwise you may have to pay custom fees like I did. (or rather I had to pay the money back to London before they would continue processing!)

Oh CONGRATULATIONS!! Was really hoping yours would come through soon too. VERY VERY glad to hear this!

I've just looked through the folder we stuffed all the remaining bits in after the application and have found 4 extra photos we printed off with the original ones - score! Now just need to go buy some envelopes and I'm ready to rock and roll. Might send mine tracked Canada Post though, we'll see...

Ha! That's hilarious..
Yep I've done that before - thanks for the tip.
UPS just as good? There are no fedex stores in my town..

As for the pictures, do you think they won't like if I sent the same pictures I sent for the PR process? I had extra copies, they match the specs, and they are still about 6 months old.

SUCH fabulous news!!!! Congratulations guys :)

Thanks so much for the support Maid Marian, I was tracking your name on the spreadsheets too.
Mine took about 2 weeks longer than the recent average, but I expected that, given I had 3 countries to be checked in. Or maybe I just got a slower officer :o) Are you already in Canada?

I think UPS will be fine, just the same thing really. And as long as the pics are the right specs then they'll be fine too. Make sure you like the pic though, cos thats the one that's gonna end up on your PR card!!
:)
Congrats again to everyone!

Husband picked up his passport with visa in it today! Yayy! Now, just gotta get a cheap ticket for him to fly him over....

Also, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the tips and support. This forum was the first thing I used to read upon getting to work in the morning. I'm so glad this whole ordeal is over and I couldn't have gotten through it all without all you guys!

Congratulations to all with happy news! :D

Me I'm just trying not to get depressed waiting for my fbi document. :'(

It's tough to say why it takes a certain time to process - I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the office, to see what's happening in there!

Yeah, I'm in Canada already, as a visitor between a working holiday visa and my PR. We live in Winnipeg. Looked at FedEx but my quote came to over $100! Whereas the nice lady at the post office can get it there tracked in 5 days for about $60. Am even toying with just sending registered mail, as it's about $25 and might get there in a week. With Christmas looming, I figure I might get caught up in it and not get my passport back before the new year anyway. Funny how much more laid back I feel now I've got that email!!

And I echo what TGR says, this forum has been a real lifeline. Thanks everyone, esp PinkLady (the unofficial guardian angel of this thread) x

Hi TGR, Im just trying to figure how long it could potentially take to recieve my passport back... could you share the date you sent it off?

Hi guys!

My post yesterday clearly worked some karmic magic: woke up this morning to find my PPR email waiting in my inbox! ;D ;D ;D

I feel so light and happy! Now to just get all the stuff together and get it sent off!

Good luck to all of those still waiting - seems like they're moving again at last! xx

Congratulations! (And thank you for posting this. Given our close timelines, this gives me hope!)
