Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Looking at the spreadsheet for the first time in a little while, I have a request.

Please can the PK applications be separated into a different sheet once again?

The rationale I saw for entering them into the same one was to improve knowledge and experience by increasing the range of data. But all this data does is muddy the waters. The sheet is now about half and half visa exempt and non visa exempt. This means that for visa exempt people (Brits, Irish, Swedish), the averages are skewed longer than they really are. For the non-visa exempt (Pakistan, Dubai), it is skewed shorter than they really are. Both groups have to sift through vast amounts of irrelevant information to find the applications that are similar to their own.

The great strength of this sheet was that it was easy to read, and collated mainly similar experiences, meaning the data was valid, and relevant. By piling all the non visa exempt apps into the same sheet, it has lost every one of those advantages.

At the very least, can you please add two more tabs, allowing people to select only visa exempt/non visa exempt? As without that distinction, the sheet loses all purpose.

Please update the spreadsheet!!

Ecas still says in process, but MyCIC updated this morning (22/11 Aus time so 21/11 canada time) to say this:

Application/profile status Closed
Review of eligibility Passed
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview
A background check is needed Complete
Final decision This application has been approved

Attached to the MyCIC update was a letter stating my CoPR has been issued. Is this something I will be mailed? Letter also stated that I should receive IMM5785 and IMM5688. I know 5688 is the CoPR. Whats the other one?

I wasn't asked to send any passport/immigration photos or a photocopy of my passport, which is normal of London. Should I expect this or just wait for the CoPR now?

Otherwise all done! I'll be landing in Canada next April sometime. I'll be sticking around here to keep the spreadsheet up to date.
Mucho congratulations! Spreadsheet updated....

it's SchnookoLoly's call, but there's a couple of things you should know...

the averages for visa exempt and non-visa exempt applicants are calculated separately and are completely independent of each other, so one does not skew the other. what you're saying can be implemented using filtered tabs so we don't have to manually apply a filter each time we want to look at segregated data, but that's really only going to be a visual change; the source data is still going to be all on the same sheet whether it's visible or not.

the reason we're seeing a higher average for standard countries is simply because we don't have enough data for visa exempt applicants being processed through London. most of them nowadays get transferred to Ottawa instead.

I think I had slightly lax language, sorry. I understand that the boxes at the bottom (showing average visa exempt/average non-visa exempt) are independent of each other. I meant in the actual sheet itself, where all the data is piled in. People scan this over, looking for cases similar to their own. Married or common law. London or Ottawa. Dates submitted, and milestones reached. I haven't yet submitted, but if I look at the sheet now, almost the entire bottom end of recent applications have an x for non-visa exempt. Meaning they're mainly going through London (while most, but not all NVE apps are being sent to Ottawa, and it's harder to identify them out of the mass of NVE apps).

The visual change is all I'm asking for (filtered tabs would be fine), to keep the sheet applicable to people using it. So long as the backend is separate, it doesn't matter how many countries or officers are in the same place - Sydney and Paris and Manila can all be added in and remain functional so long as people can view the information relevant to them. The simple dumping of the data into the same visual space is what makes, in my view, the sheet much harder to use/less useful.

Whilst i agree that more data provides better accuracy, i must admit that since PK has been added into master sheet data, i find myself scrolling up and down trying to find my way.

If you have to keep a master sheet thats fine, but at least give us ability to filter off. I see that there are separate worksheets for PK, so can we have a separate worksheet too for the data minus the PK applications?

so two sheets for every year, one for visa exempt and one for non visa exempt. makes sense to me, but i'm just an admin. let's wait for Schnook to come back and decide on how she's going to tackle this.

in the mean time, you can filter out non-visa exempt rows with these steps:
1. click the filter icon on the top menu bar (right next to the print icon), pick "create new temporary filter view"
2. click the little arrow that shows up on the top right corner of the "non-visa exempt" column header
3. uncheck "X", click ok

I am no expert on Google sheets, but on Excel, I would set it up as one spreadsheet with autofilters then people can set their own filters - but not sure how that would / could work in a mixed enquiry only vs edit scenario. I too am only the 'hired help' :)

Just seen your timeline and it really scared me. Why did it take that long?
A lot of different things affected my time line . Sa was a much longer time wait , it kept changes , one minute it was 30 days then it went to 90 days . They lost parts of my information and requested it 3 times . They lost my husbands divorce certificate another time so had to sumit that . Some one put in the wrong date for one of my step sons and they thought he was under 22 and we were hiding him . NOT THE CASE. Then it got sent to London and they stopped working on all London applications and stared working on all New Delhi apps . It was a nightmare of a wait . Very bad luck .. Have a look at Andew Brit time line he waited some time too ..

Okay i have a question.... ;D So basically i was wondering what would be the issue if i were to visit my wife in Canada for say 2 to 3 months whilst our application is still in process.... with me still working for my current employer in UK (listed as working from home) using laptop to connect back to UK employers network and continue working and supporting employer and client.... I am not being payed by a Canadian employer or taking and Canadian work.... would this be okay? any thoughts or advice welcome :)

SO sorry I have disappeared, apparently gmail started filtering my thread alerts into spam. Whoops. So I missed a whole bucket of replies.

So this doesn't exactly work because only then admins can use the filters, they are greyed out otherwise.

FLX mentioned the temporary viewt hing, but it's not really great for the layman because you have to actually go to a different menu to find it, it's not really intuitive.

I've instead added LON only tabs, like the PK ones. :) Hopefully that does the job.

Yes, you can work remotely from Canada for your UK employer as long as none of your clients are Canadian and all remuneration is outside of Canada.
