Waiting for an appointment to land at an office can take weeks or even months. Flagpoling at the Canada-US border is a much faster way to land. You do not send your passport.

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated. I have heard that but have also seen some cases where their landing interviews scheduled within Canada have been booked quite quickly (couple weeks). I guess if you're in a major city, then it's easy.

I am going back to the UK in August for a couple of weeks. If I happened to receive COPR by then, I could just activate PR when landing back in Vancouver, correct? Suppose I shouldn't really speak hypothetically as I may not get COPR by then :/. Just thinking things through though.

Good morning,

Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation before:

- On Jan 7th 2016 we received an email requesting more documentation for proof of address with dates (we promptly submitted).
- No line was added to our ecas to indicate the correspondence was sent.
- On March 2nd a new line was added saying 'We sent you correspondence on March 2nd 2016, please submit as soon as possible... etc etc.' BUT we have not received any new requests other than the original email in January.

We are wondering if the new line added was just delayed from the original request in January or if they did indeed send a 2nd request but we haven't received it yet.

Any advice to share would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Not sure if I believe this but had an email today asking for submission of passport (photocopy I presume as UK citizen), along with 2 passport photos.....

Is this confirmation of decision made!???

(In shock so just want to make sure)

no, that is your PPR. decision made comes AFTER that has been submitted and processed.

I have had a similar situation where I'm not sure if a second correspondence was a ghost thing. I was requested 4 more photos, posted sent same day I received the correspondence. Then a week later I received the same exact email requesting 4 more even though my first batch had arrived in London (had them tracked). I was paranoid and sent more again just to be safe. They are still in transit. :/

Don't really know what to suggest. Just sit and wait. I'm in a similar pickle of not knowing whether it's all ok or if my application is delayed.

I'm confused as to why we get requested for PPR when we send photocopies of our passport with our PR application?

It is rather confusing but taking it as a step forward in the right direction. Going to get the photocopy and photos sent off.

Just one question that I am hoping someone can help with. Our processing office is Ottowa in the email sent they have stated to send passport photocopy and pictures to London or to Ottowa if I am currently in Canada.

I am in the UK so presume I send to London - just concerned that our pack never came through that office.

ECAS changed today to.............Decision Made!!!!!!!!!

Only taken 19 months

finally!!! congratulations!!

Hi everyone, we desperately need some help...
Its been 16 months since our application was received by the CIC.

We just received our notes today, nothing has changed since our last notes, which was 6 months ago. The only thing still in progress is our medical extension, which is being processed in manila. Has anyone else had their medical processed in manila as well? I don't understand why it's been sent there.

We got our MP to check on the progress of the application with the LVO, she told us that they are still waiting for the results of the medical extension, everything else is completed and passed. We got the reassessment done on August 24th 2015, and it was sent via eMedical the next day (we've got a copy of the eMedical information form from the medical center confirming that it was sent).

In the past 6 months I've also sent a couple of case specific enquiries regarding the status of the medical, I've attached scanned copies of the eMedical information form, as well as a completed reassessment form, and have yet to receive any response.

I don't know at this point if London has not received the medical results from Manila, or if Manila never received it from the medical center. We don't know what else to do. The MP said they are not in a position to help us with it either. Has anything similar to this happened to anyone else?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

you can expect it anytime in between 6-11 months depending upon your case.

Hi

No, your children are not Canadian. As of 2009, CIC limited citizenship to the first generation born abroad, which would be you.

You will need to include your children in your husband's sponsorship app.

Once the children are PRs, you can then immediately apply for their Canadian citizenship.

Thank you for clarifying this - I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Sorry it's not really advice, but we have the same thing written on ecas a month after we were requested to send more information for medical extension, this was back in August 2015. I'm in the same boat as well wondering if it was received or not. and we never got a 2nd request either. I've sent a couple of case specific enquiries, haven't received any response so far.

I hope you're having more luck, and please keep us updated
