Can someone please help me,

Our application was sent to Ottawa instead of London, we received DM and an email subject "Ready for Visa" on December 17. The email advised us to send passport photos and copies to London if we were outside of Canada, we sent them immediately on December 18. To date we had not heard anything so I email London. They responded telling me that I need to contact Ottawa as that is where our application is being processed. I am at a bit of a loss as we can't really confirm with Ottawa that we received our documents as they were posted to London yet we can't contact London because they say it wasn't processed there. Its 4 weeks today that we are waiting COPR are we worrying too soon??

Any advice??

Great news ! when will you land ? I was just saying last night that it has taken until now to relax and know its real and hubby doesn't have to catch that Feb flight back home.
We're working on a date as I type this. I've got the house to pack up and lots to do now! I'm hoping to arrive a month before the kids to do the necessary house/job/school hunting and then to pop back for the kids. My hubby's been renting a one bed apartment, so we need to find somewhere bigger.

It all depends on whether I'd be okay to arrive back in Canada without a PR card. Not sure how to find out. If not, we'll all do our landing together. Exciting and scary all at the same time lol!

It must feel strange once the process is over and 'real life' in Canada together begins. What an amazing start to the New Year for you both.

As from March 15 you need a travel visa authorization to travel its 10.00 pounds, the only problem is you can't apply for it if you are a Pr and you can't just travel with your corp. My hubby has decided to stay here in Canada until he receives his PR card then we will travel . When he landed the cbsa officer said you can travel any time just travel on your visa exempt passport but then i looked at the site for the travel visa for my nephew who is coming and thats where it says you can't apply if you are a Pr , so i guess your landing with the kids .

WOOHOO!!!
Thank you everyone for your amazing support. Especially in the last week, when I was near breaking point.

Been given until 7/7/16 to land.
Finally! Congratulations!

Does your COPR or the envelope have a date for when it was sent? Just curious whether I should be worried yet myself... DM on December 17th, no COPR yet and LVO hasn't responded to my email.

Yes, I posted a question about this on the other Topics. From what I can gather I think I can travel as a visitor if I have an eTA and stay for a month. Then I can fly home and do my landing with the kids a week or so later. The only thing is, I haven't established if that will create problems at the point of entry with CBSA because I might be in their system as being issued with COPR? Will they question why I'm travelling as a visitor? I don't want to mess things up, so you're probably right and I should just land with the kids and deal with everything once we're there.

Ecas had changed to DM on 9th December, but the actual COPR is dated 8th January?? confusing! The cover letter is dated 13th January and the envelope is dated 14th January. It arrived yesterday, 15th January.

I have a feeling that we were in some pile of papers on someone's desk and they'd forgotten about us. I send two CSE's and I emailed my hubby's MP on the 13th January. I'm not sure if any of those things prompted them to act on my queries because I never received a reply of London. I received a reply off the MP within a few hours who said they'd investigate..

That's so frustrating... Why would they change the status of the application in their system to Decision Made at all, if they're not planning on sending out the COPR's in another month? I will never understand CIC. Glad you have it now though, hopefully mine is on the way too since I've sent a CSE and a couple of emails as well. Happy landing! :)

I don't think it will cause a problem but i would apply for an eta first see if they give it to you and if they do then you can carry on with your plans. If you think about it your not a PR until you land. Then i wouldn't plan on traveling until you receive your PR card. How old are the kids are they excited ?

My COPR arrived at my parents house in England today (they originally tried to deliver it on the 12th). It was post dated 11th Jan.

Now to get it to Canada safe and sound...

As glad as I feel, I also feel awful for those who applied before me, or around the same time, whose lives are being held up by this unfair process that lacks any structure of transparency, and who have to sit there and watch people who applied (many) months afterwards get PR, whilst theirs moves not a jot.

All I can say is that our file only moved when we requested notes: first time file was actually opened and work done it, second time it was opened and more work done, third time - a week later we were DM. Best $15 we've ever spent.

Will keep you up to date and let you know how/when I land.

And many thanks to those on here who provide so much support - maybe you'll never know how much help you are, but trust me - this process would have been a million times more difficult without this forum.

I'm in a kind of no-man's land with this. I HAVE landed but was told if I travel before I get my PR card I travel as I did before I landed. So technically I'm PR...except I'm not when it comes to entering Canada after 15th March.

I applied and got eta's sorted out for myself and the kids. I gave the details of our new UCI's with a note explaining that we'd just got COPR's issued and got confirmation emails through without any problems.

My hubby's coming over to help me dismantle some furniture for a couple of weeks in February and he said he'll enquire at the immigration desk when he returns to Canada to see what options are available to me. I think it'll be ok for me to arrive as a visitor for a month's visit now that i have the eta sorted out. It's just a shame if I can't risk doing my landing at that stage as it would have enabled me to get my SIN card sorted out and to have got a driving license etc. My hubby will be working 6 days a week and i wanted to feel able to drive around, get my bearings and take the kids to college and schools for the first few times. I'm just being selfish I guess.

But it is what it is, and if it's not possible, I'm certainly not going to complain as I feel on cloud nine to have come through the process quickly and without any real difficulties ;D

They're aged 19, 17 and 13 - so not little kiddies, but in some ways that's worse because they still have that invisible umbilical chord attached and teenagers are harder to please! They're really excited! Especially my youngest one - she's been promised a brown-bear hamster and has already started to think of names for it lol! My middle daughter's obsessed with a certain Justin Bieber.... enough said! haha. My eldest daughter has her eye on a fancy downtown apartment, a pet pooch and has high hopes of securing a $70,000 a year job within 3 years! they make me smile ;D

That's really interesting. If I've understood correctly I was told by the Seniors on here that I
basically have 4 options available to me :-

a) If I do my landing then leave Canada and try to return by air at a later date, I will need to get a TRD from London Visa Office or I might expect difficulties when I arrive at the airport or try to book a flight.

b) I can go through the landing process and wait 2 or 3 months for my PR card (which isn't feasible for me) so that I can enter Canada without any problems in the future.

c) Arrive as a visitor after 15th March, (I now have an eTA) and I won't encounter any problems when I finally arrive to do my landing at a slightly later date.

d) Land as a whole family - which is probably what we'll do

Permanent Residents can't obtain an eTA but I'm not a PR until I officially land.

After March 15th, no airline will let you board a plane to Canada without either your PR crd or a PRTD.
