Awesome, glad you got it all done! Happy landing - be sure to read the articles on British Expats about preparing to land! :)

We've had signs of life from Ottawa (day 258 and counting...) - it is a request for more information. I'm the sponsor, moved back to Canada 3 months ago and am currently working in Toronto waiting for my common law partner to get PR!!

Has this happened to anyone else? They have asked us to submit the stat dec for common law (which I know has been asked of a lot of CL couples). My understanding from that form though is that the notary has to have both of us physically present to sign in front of him or her?

Because that is not going to happen unless CPC wants to pay for one of our round trip flights. If I'm mistaken, is it best that he mails me a copy with his original signature and then I get it signed by a lawyer/notary whoever here in Canada?

So for the spreadsheet, we've been requested info of: IMM5409 and additional evidence that I live in Canada (bank statements, pay stubs and recent utility bills)

Updated! Not certain about that form so hopefully someone else can weigh in. I suspect you can do what you've suggested but can't say for sure.

A lawyer or notary service would need to be comfortable to notarize without the physical presence of your partner. I suggest to call a few and hopefully you will find someone who will do it. Good luck.

Hey everyone. I finally sent off our application today. With Canada day being tomorrow I would guess it will arrive by Friday.
Thank you all for helping me decide to keep with outland.

After a few days of beeing sick my final papers (passpprt copy, updated information chart, immigration photos and self adressed envelope) is finally on their way to Canada House in London, UK! I Wonder how long its gonna be until I find the same envelope in my own mailbox again containing my COPR ?! :D Im so excited! If they are quick enough I migh go visit Canada House and thank them in person with flowers and swedish chocolate when I visit London for vaccation in September :P lol

Thank you!

My application was processed in Ottawa, so suprised over how fast it went! I count myself as very blessed and very very lucky since I know people from 2014 are still waiting to hear about their applications.

Yup so that's a September Applicant gone in progress. Seriously London WTF

My feelings exactly! Happy for them but really?

Received a fresh version of notes today. Our files eligibility assessment is still shown under review required. Amongst last months notes, the note which described the eligibility assessment process only had a dump of some of the proof we submitted and nothing regarding the VOs thoughts on the case, it did say that eligibility required review though. However, this time the same note had the VOs opinion and it didnt make for good reading. It read that he found it really unusual that me and my wife knew each other for 4 years and the marriage was not arranged, concluding that perhaps we were portraying the relationship as western so that it would be taken more positively. Said nothing about the 4 years of pictures, chat logs, cards, phone records that we submitted to prove our relationship. So it looks like conforming to cultural norms is more credible to these guys than the proof we submit. Anyway, what is even more unusual is the fact that they extended our medical in February before my wife went in for her remedical in March, dont they do this when they are of the opinion that the file in question will be processed swiftly? Secondly eligibility has not been reviewed since January (according to the dates logged on the note) and we are yet to receive a request for further proof and/or an interview. Really dont know what to make of it all.

So it is the start of a new month now, London seems to be putting a few files in process recently, so bearing in mind that we only have a small snapshot of the number of applications they receive, it does seem they are picking up the pace a little.

Plus London has approved 4 applications per month in the last 3 months, here is hoping they stick to that or even better approve more!
