So here is another question I have. I hope someone can help, or I may call CIC if I can ever get hold of them. Sorry this may seem repetitive but I think it's important to understand the story behind it.
My husband is holding Pakistan citizenship only, and he has been in Denmark on work visa since 2011. Prior to that he was in Sweden on student visa. We got married in Pakistan because it was easier for both families to attend the wedding. So we have a "Nikahnaamah" that is stamped and attested.
I was unable to obtain a formal marriage certificate because I do not have a Pak ID number, and currently their system would not accept foreigners in their database, so they are unable to generate marriage certificates if one of the spouses doesn't have formal Pak ID number. I have now since applied for Pakistani Origin Card, which takes approximately 3-6 months to process. This will allow me to apply for a marriage certificate.
Because he lives in Denmark, so I followed the instructions for Western European countries. Here are my questions.
1. Is a copy of my English nikahnaamah sufficient in my situation or should I be submitting original just like all other Pakistani nationals are required to do.
i rather be prepared and send off everything before they request it.
