I'm still waiting,

13 months now.

Got an email from Buffalo that said our application is "actively being reviewed" and that "we shouldn't have to wait much longer"

I need everyone's prayers

I'm thinking about you :)

*fingers crossed*

Excellent sign. Buffalo wouldn't say something in such strong terms unless they really were ready to finish processing, or they'd have egg on their face. Fingers crossed it's this week or next.

visa and copr arrived in the mail today. My hubbys picture is attached to the COPR, but why did they send the second picture back too?
congrats on all the recent PPRs!!

Just got ours back today too (stupid Canada Post decided not to bother delivering on Friday) and we got the second picture back as well. I wonder with all the extra photos they ask for what is the point? The 5 or whatever we had to send with the original application... do they make a collage on the wall and throw darts at them to see which app gets processed next?

Hahahaha!

I suspect they just need an updated copy (a lot can change in a year or more, as some are now waiting)... and that it gets scanned into the computer.

ROFL.....I know, right? That's in case they use too much glue sticking the first one on, maybe.

Me too. (Mailed my app in on Jan. 31st actually but thanks to the good ole' Canadian postal service, it didn't get there until Feb. 11th...)

P.S. ddobro2 if you'd like to update the spreadsheet by adding my actual app sent/received dates, go for it, though I think it might kinda throw off the overall data since it organizes by sent date. Up to you!

Ow ow! :P Thanks! hehehe

ddobro2,

To clear up any questions that you had:
1. The letter I got dated August 3 stated that if I did not pay or provide proof of payment of RPRF within 60 days my application would be denied.
2. The confirmation that I am talking about is that when I sent my recept via fax I got a confirmation that the fax when thru and was received at Mississuaga.
3. I know what you mean about the email read receipt, however any other time I have sent an email it took no longer than a week to get some sort of answer. Just wondering why this one is taking so long.
4. Got a response yesterday 6/9/2011 wanting more info...however was told in the email that my Id and immigration file numbers were not Buffalo numbers...I have been using the same numbers for however long I have been doing this and getting responses from Buffalo!!! Makes me feel real confident about the process (severe sarcasim intended).

Hope this clears any questions up and thanks for any help/support you can offer.

I can totally picture this! "Good morning everyone. You all have your darts? Let's get to work!" (or go get coffee... again... ::) )
They seemed to have pretty good aim at the March group... :P

I am just wondering what might be the delay in our file. Let me give a brief background and let me know what you guys think could pose delay--

I am from India, came here for studies 8 yrs back. did that and have been working for last 5 yrs. I applied for skilled pr before meeting my wife and was rejected bcos of the stupidity of the officer of not happy about my roles and responsibilities. I wasnt very much inclined to move to Canada anyways so didnt mind at that time. This was march 2009. I first spoke to my wife online in May 2009 and later have a full history of what we did and all that and everyone knowing about us the whole time....so we did give all the names in Canada and from India who knew when about us, plenty of proofs and all too. We got married in Dec 2010 and have sent marriage certificate from India, filed my application from Buffalo in Feb 2011. Due to my consulting work I keep moving and have changed my address 2-3 times in last 2 yrs.

Now do you guys think these could be potential delays in my application:-

PR Rejection investigation
Marriage Cert. genuineness investigation from India
My relationship and checking details from India.
My frequent address change and getting background checks from each State?
I have had at least 6-7 TRV on my passport and have traveled to Buffalo office to get them done 4-5 times and have traveled to Canada 100s of times and have never stayed back long enough so the intention was never to be in Canada permanently, I suppose they can see all my TRV records too? No criminal record, no divorces, no babies.

Any input would be great to analyze what might be causing the delay. Or its just the processing time and lack of order on the Buffalo side?

P.S. Its good to know I am not alone from the Feb. group

buffalo-toronto,
Just my two cents...The fact that you've been rejected for PR before would probably raise red flags for the immigration officers as to whether your marriage is genuine. However, in cases such as these, I believe that they ask for an interview and not just sit around with the file. I do not think 2-3 moves in 2 years is outrageous, my husband and I have moved 2-3 times a year (only within the US and Canada) since we turned 18 because of school. But then again, we have been waiting since December...

I know, well PR rejection could be an issue but not doing anything with the file doesnt make sense.

Why i mentioned different addresses is because, I spoke to someone from MP's office and they mentioned if you have moved around, it takes time to get individual state clearance from each state in USA.

Well, that's what might be holding us up. My husband has lived in 4 states and 2 provinces in the past 10 years. Although it does not make sense to me at all...I had to have a background/security check done when I worked at a nuclear research facility. It took them two weeks to complete, and I have lived in 3 different countries by that point.
