I got an e-mail last night that said it was to confirm my application was received by CIC on June 22, 2011. I was thinking okay that's odd because it was obviously received since my husband was approved as my sponsor but it was still kind of nice to get something. Anyway at the end of the e-mail it said it was from Buffalo. Why would they be sending me an e-mail telling me when Mississauga received my application?

Because Mississauga sends the application to Buffalo after they have completed processing the Sponsor's part. My husband received an email from buffalo too and a few days later we received a letter in the mail saying the interview was waived and to send some more documents.

Our address has disappeared for the 2nd time now. I got all excited with the ECAS update. BLAH!

we've received three updates from the ghost e-cas fairy this week :( and my wife's (applicant) addresses have disappeared.

Hi all,

My address has disappeared and reappeared several times this last month. The worst part is, it is the wrong address. I have submitted a address change form, but the update has not gone through.

I am getting so depressed by this process, and I swear I am losing hair. It is so frustrating to have so little control over our lives..Will it ever end?

FloridaNative, I too have had NO success changing my address, tried a few times around May/June and since have given up.

The worst part about it is that not only do I no longer live in that country, but the address is wrong all together, so I can't even get it forwarded on....

I'm just hoping that any correspondence is sent to me via e-mail and that they at least have THAT address correct!!!

My mother in law has suggested sending them an actual letter via courier so I can track it and have a signature, does anyone have any thoughts on this?

The same thing happened to me. It disappeared last month and reappeared with my old address even though I submitted the address change. I have a job offer I need to start and it's so frustrating!!

This time there was no ghost update! I got an email from BFALOIMPA-AP @ international.gc.ca saying my visa is ready for issuance! I've gotta go take a shower to get my photos done! Where can I get those done in Vancouver? hmm. I hope everyone else gets theirs soon, it looks like Buffalo is moving along!

(Re-posting from March thread, hoping for some insight)

Small (but exciting to me) update:

I spoke with our MP's office two days ago and they agreed to inquire on our application as we needed to verify that our address had been changed. Our MP's office was VERY helpful, and I just spoke with her again this morning. Here is what she informed me:

Our file has a bring forward date of September 1.
Our medical has arrived and is good
Our background checks are done and are good
Our address and contact information has been updated

She said that the office stated our file is "moving along smoothly and we are in good shape"

She said she has a strong feeling (but cannot guarantee) that September bring forward date is for a final review and that we have a good chance of having our approval shortly after that. She also said that the officer has 30 days from the bring forward date to do the review, and if we don't hear anything by the end of September, to call her back and she will do another inquiry.

Just wondering.... from those who are experienced in the area, are her impressions accurate? I know there is no guarantee... but would her interpretation of the file be sound?

Thanks so much

I wish I had ANY kind of update on Ecas to change things up a bit :P

Ghost updates would be welcome at this point. I haven't heard a thing in almost 5 months >:(

I set up an extra gmail account to receive anything involving immigration way back at the beginning of this trainwreck. I've had my husband email it a few times just to make sure it still works! :-[

Same here...Calling our MP rep in a week. He said to call him if we do not hear anything by Sept. I hope this time he will look into our file and give us detailed information as to what is going on. All these occurrences of Buffalo misplacing medicals (or other documents) and not notifying the applicant make me very nervous.

What those this mean?

That's a good idea. Hopefully you'll be like some people on our thread who've coincidentally gotten PPR soon after MP inquiries :P ::) You ordered CAIPS notes too, right?
