FAMILY CLASS (Spouse) Hello, Please add me to spreadsheet:
Documents sent 19/05/11
Sponsorship approved 27/06/11
Application for PR received 11/07/11

Hi sparkle,

I finally got a file number from Buffalo and I am able to log onto ecas as an applicant. So far the ecas was only updated for my wife (the sponsor). I am assuming this is my AOR. Can you please update me on the spreadsheet and add 26 July 2011 as the AOR date for my application.

Thank you.

Thanks for your help spiritrac!

I just went to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en and paid the $490 to Mississaugua. So hopefully that's less delay than I would otherwise have.

Thats correct send the receipt to CIC-mississuaga.

Today Buffalo responded to the email I sent on Friday night, and the subject line was our F#! I can use that number to log in to E-CAS with my wife's (the applicant) details for the first time.

We've been treating an F# as an AOR, correct? It's no PPR, but I'll take what I can get these days :-).

PPR

:D :D :D I am all smiles today. I just got my email notification this morning to submit my passport for granting my visa. I will be sending it in the next couple of days. One more down. Good luck to everyone else in getting their approvals quickly!

davidgarcin: Yes, we can consider that as your AOR ! :)

Congrats Salsavr ! This is great news !

I have done the updates on the sheet, however, for some reason google sheets is not letting me edit the color of the entries....So i cannot make you yellow & green :S
Will get that done as soon as I see it working again !

You had your AOR in may ? Your file was transferred to Buffalo on June 6, so I am a bit confused.

Oops...my bad. My husband's sponsership was approved in May. Also, my ecas states application recieved June 6th.

Congrats Salsalvr

our time line is kinda close to each other so hoping for some good news soon!!

Awesome! Congrats! Sent mine a couple days ago!

Got my passport back with my PR visa and COPR today! :)

A few interesting things:

  • The visa's "date of issue" is July 7, 2011 -- one day before my PPR. I'd always assumed it would be the actual date that they attached the visa to my passport, but I guess not.
  • My medicals were due to expire August 1, 2011. But my PR visa is valid until July 7, 2012. We were hoping they'd extend it, but by almost a year? Even my consultant thought it would only be 3-6 months.
  • They attached 1 of the 2 requested photos to my COPR. They returned the other one. Anyone had this happen before? I always assumed they'd keep the photos.
  • My "place of birth" is just listed as "Fort Worth" instead of "Fort Worth, Texas" (i.e. the state isn't listed anywhere). I assume this was due to space constraints, but I'll make sure to bring it up with an officer during my landing anyway.

So there you go. All my info is accurate on it; finally Buffalo got everything right. I know I won't be fully relaxed until I am officially landed, but going over everything and NOT finding something wrong was a huge relief.

Since I'm in Newfoundland currently anyway, we plan to go on a short trip to St. Pierre & Miquelon, and I'll land when we get back. We're not sure of the exact date yet, because a bunch of the in-laws are all excited and want to go on the trip with us. Hopefully it'll be next week, but I'll keep you all posted when we know for sure :).

Passport submission

Hello again,

I have a question about submission of passports and photos. The immigration site asks for submission of these items for myself and accompanying family members. I'm thinking this only includes family members (ie. children) that were included on the permanent residency application. Both of my children are dual American/Canadian citizens so they were not included. I wanted to verify that I wouldn't need to submit passports and photos for them and only need to do so for myself. Thank you! :D

Yep, it's only for family members who will be accompanying you as new PRs. It's so they can attach the PR visa, etc to your passport(s). The photos are mainly for your PR card.

Congratulations Rinnerz

I wondered this as well, but I just did as I was told and sent everything as requested...
