We were in a very similar situation: my file was just waiting for that one stupid certificate they lost, my medicals were expiring August 1, etc. Anywhere from 1 to 6 days from when they got the copy from us (not sure, because we don't know which copy they used), I got my PPR.

Now, it may be different for you, because they have to actually assess the proof you send them; for me, it was just one simple sheet of paper. And I suppose there could be a wait if they haven't finished your background/security checks yet, but after all this time you'd think they would have! Hopefully it'll be very straightforward and you'll hear something soon.

Hey Rinnerz!
Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated, I just checked my email for the date they received the package and it was on June 27, so it's been 10 days fingers crossed for something soon, I don't think they would want us to redo his medicals, so hopefully soon :) All I can do is pray

Also another question , what was the subject line for those who got PPR by email

I am of the same time line as you all too and I have emailed Buffalo 4-5 times but all the time they have responded with automatic replies. I still havnt received a F or B number and no notification that my file is in process either. I have emailed them again this morning asking them to give me a status update or file number so that I can update my new passport # and new address, god knows if they will reply properly this time or not.

I am in the same boat. I've emailed them a couple of times and first reply was the generic "we are backlogged" response and the second was the one that said they are taking 30 weeks to create files. No file number for me either, no ecas updates, no nothing. Can you keep us updated on the response your email today? I am afraid to contact them again, I would almost rather hold onto the hope that they are looking at mine and just not telling me than to get depressed with another form response.

Email for us as well. On the road driving to Buffalo a long 8 hour drive ahead of us to be there for 7am with some stops. We will let everyone know how it goes and will tell them to approve more December-January applications

ocu_canadian...When you received the request for your passports you have the option of going in person to Buffalo with them? I work around the corner from the Consulate, so this is great news!!

Congrats to all PPRs this week!!!! Things are moving in Buffalo!

My husband's was:

PASSPORT REQUIRED B######### FC

(I have replaced the actual numbers in his ID number with "#".)

Mine was:

Passport request letter - B********* - (Applicants Name) - fc/mg‏

Congrats, ocu_canadian and puzzle69!!! Two in one day. Let's keep it going, Buffalo =)

Congrats ocu_canadian and puzzle69. You have made my day. It is great to finally see some movement.

May the rest of us get good news this week.

I will let everyone know if and when I get any response from them, hopefully it will not be an automated reply this time around.

I emailed them on the 8th...i'm waiting for a reply and i'll also let everybody know about it

Thanks again to all of you for your kind words and congratulations -- and congrats to those who've heard good news recently! It's nice to see things moving along.

I just wanted to let you guys know that my eCAS updated today to "Decision Made", just 2 business days after the PPR email. For those curious, I only ever got 2 eCAS updates:

"We started processing your application on December 6, 2010.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

Also, about the PPR email subject line... I wonder if they've recently started changing that? My PPR email subject line was just: "FILE: B********* NAMES: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME CN/EZ". That was it; no "passport request" in the actual subject line. It was sent from "BFALOIMPA-AP @international.gc.ca" (minus the spaces, of course).

The actual format of the letter is below. Hope it helps.

FILE: B********* NAMES: ******, *********

congrats again Rinnerz and thanks for posting that should help with answers to some of the questions being asked in regards to PPR notices

Quick question:

We're still waiting patiently for my wife's PPR (she's currently visiting with me in Canada). If she's still here when she gets her PPR, can she send her passport from Canada, or will she have to fly home and mail it from the USA?

Being able to mail it from here would make our lives a lot easier, since we keep pushing her flight back as the process takes longer and longer, but we're afraid we're going to push it back too far if her PPR arrives soon.

She can mail it from Canada -- use Canada Post's Xpresspost service. When you get the PPR email, there's a link that includes instructions for where to send your passport if you're in Canada (Ft. Erie).
