Thanks so much Rinnerz and awor and everyone else for your support and compassion. It meant a lot.

Unfortunately, my father passed away yesterday afternoon. He had been suffering, so I know he's not now....but it's hard no matter when it happens. :(

I'm trying to keep busy by doing things like reading all the good news on this forum. Both my children are staying with me and my husband's been wonderfully loving and supportive...Thank God he hadn't left to Canada yet!

Thanks, so much, for your support. It's nice to have another family out here.

@ boomerang: :( I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing anyone close to you -- let alone a parent -- is never easy. Keeping yourself busy can help you deal, but I also hope that you are able to give yourself room to breathe and cope when you're ready to. Very glad to hear you have your family with you, supporting you through this.

Wow! This whole process is so confusing, intentionally Im sure. How do I pay the RPRF? Do I send it to Buffalo, Mississauga, or can I run it over to the Buffalo office because I work around the corner? I know I need to pay in money order. The letter is so vague. Help!

Im sorry Boomerang! :(

My deepest sympathies, Boomerang...

The fee needs to be paid online or you can order a form sent to you from the cic.gc.ca website. If you pay onlline you print out a receipt and send it to Mississuaga and if you order the form you pay through your bank and send the form to cic.gc.ca. DONT send a money order/bank draft or anything of that sort to Buffalo or they will just send it back to you (trust me I made that mistake)

Thanks CandC2009!

They also requested a police clearance for any time Ive lived in Canada, but Ive never lived there. Should I address this issue? I was thinking of faxing a letter to Buffalo with my receipt of $$ stating I do not require a clearance. Thoughts on this?

I'm so sorry boomerang (hugs) I lost my dad last year, my husband and I weren't married yet, but he was able to come down for a few day and it meant the world to me. I'm glad you've got your hubby with you.

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Rinnerz....I am so super happy that you finally got the PPR.....

Boomerang...I am so sorry to hear about your father....hugggggsssss

thats what I would do, state that you have never lived in Canada, if you've ever visited for a long period of time and they are requesting it then i would provide one.

I emailed Buffalo about my application (still "Application Received" on March 10, according to ECAS), and received this response:

Your file number is _________

Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section

What does this mean? :s Does this mean they've actually started looking at our application and we're (fingers crossed) close to a PPR? Or could it mean anything?

After 2 emails to Buffalo (one to the email address after sending in one of those case specifics from their website we have gotten our B and F numbers as well as that our file is in process and no further information is required....

it's something, right?

and you're not the only one frustrated with people filing in Feb and March getting through. We've pretty much stopped reading these forums because of this.
File sent january 28 and people in March breezing through while others hear nothing at all unless they harass Buffalo?.... Sickening.

Exact same response I got.... and Buffalo received our application the SAME day.... Looks like we are in the exact same boat!!

I dont think it means anything I got that message in may (buffalo received app jan 26th) and still haven't heard anything regarding IA or PPR. I wouldn't count on it too much.

I dont want to burst your bubble or anything but dont get your hopes up to high :(

Same here. Application received Feb 2, I emailed them just last week, and response was exact same as yours except for the file number as I already got it April. No further correspondence from them :(

Hi All,

We received the exact same response too. We were also received Buffalo March 10. We should keep an eye on one another, maybe if one of us makes a move, all of us will??

Trying my best to keep positive about it all, but gets difficult when others are being put through so quickly. Just want this stress to be over. Sigh.
