and yes, the next step is "in process." your e-cas should work before that to say something along the lines of:

"We received your application for permanent residence on February 2, 2011."

when it is in process, it should say something like:

"We started processing your application on May 5, 2011."

Hey all,

I just received this email from the Buffalo office after inquiring about the status of application which was received on June 6th. Here is the response:

"
Your file number is Fxxxxxxxxxxxx/Bxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Madam / Sir,

Your application is in queue for review. An exact review schedule is not yet available. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Please note that you are responsible for maintaining valid status as long as you remain in Canada. If your residential or mailing address changes, you must notify our office.

For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo

Immigration Section "

Does receiving this file number represent an AOR?

I never received this email, but my wife got an email approving her as my sponsor, with her client number. The email stated that my app was sent to buffalo for processing. Should I be expecting this type of email also or do we usually get the sponsor approval and applicant approval as well?

My e-cas says that my application has been received on 4/28/2011. I take that as my AOR....

Dont count on ecas though, it is unreliable and seems to update for random people others it doesn't update.

Hey Chinook,

We got the same documentation as you. I only received this email, because I sent an email to Buffalo to get an update on the status of her application.

Hooray!!! More Buffalo movement! ;D

I got my PPR today...."We are now in a position to request passports for visa issuance."

I have until August 8, 2011 to submit it together with photos.

I hope this frees up more time for our friends in Nov-Feb groups.

Does anyone know about how long it takes between the time I send in my passport and the time I receive my visa?

Going to Canada!!!

Congrats.

Not to rain on your parade, but this pisses me off.

It seems we should have waited about a month and a half to submit ours and we'd be finishing the process sooner. Totally illogical.

Makes me want to go into politics so I can contact the buffaloians and tell them off.

Congrats Boomerang....Everyone lets just stay confident and hope for the fastest outcome for us all...Positive Energy goes a LONG way!!!!
Come on Buffalo

I got a letter dated June 24th stating my Sponsorship was approved. In ecas it still shows nothing about my application....But im positive things will move fast.

How do i private msg anyone here?

I am very excited to see that a number of people have heard responses from Buffalo very recently! This movement seems promising for everyone waiting to hear news.

Congrats, boomerang11!

congratulations Boomerang..

Doctorkb.. Relax your turn is coming be happy for those who have had responses

Congrats boomerang11!

hmm...maybe I should withdraw my application and resubmit. I think this way the chances of my husband coming to Canada sometime by the end of this year are much greater...

He was happy for the as am I anytime someone is accepted it makes me happy. The frustrating part is the fact my wife's application is about as straight forward as possible and people are getting PPR who applied 2-3 months after us. It is very frustrating and I don't care how patient someone is it takes it's toll on you. I am just awaiting the day that I can be reunited with my wife but I am stuck seeing people getting through quicker than us. However like I said I am happy for people when they do get accepted. My patience are wearing thin with Buffalo that is all :). Wake up Buffalo and get er done!!!

Alright, Boomerang11! Congratulations and best of luck in Canada!! :)

Hmmm? Maybe I'll send an email to them to see where I stand. Thanks!

So, just a quick recap for everyone before I make it obvious where I'm going with this...

  • Buffalo misplaced my UAE police certificate and neglected to tell us. We never got an Initial Assessment. They never replied to our queries, when we asked if any additional documents were needed.
  • April 28: We got my CAIPS notes, which revealed the certificate was missing. We (both myself and our consultant) sent them ample proof of having sent it already, plus copies of the original, by email.
  • June 27: After 2 months of numerous unanswered emails and queries, I emailed them (yet again) about the missing certificate issue.
  • June 30: They replied -- twice. Reply 1 was them telling me to only contact them through my consultant, that they would never reply to me directly ("office policy"). Reply 2 was them claiming they "had no records" of any of our emails from April 28 onwards, and requesting I submit a copy of the certificate (again). I emailed both their addresses with the copy again.
  • July 4: I faxed a copy to them, with a cover letter.
  • July 5: I sent another 2 copies to them, perfect color copies, by FedEx.
  • July 7: FedEx delivered it to them before 10 AM that day.

Today, July 8, I received an email from Buffalo: They've decided they want my passport for visa issuance ;). They've given me a deadline of August 8. My medicals were supposed to expire August 1, so I'm guessing they just extended their validity. Who knows which of the 3 copies of my certificate they actually used to finalize my application. (Perhaps my second batch of CAIPS notes will tell us in a week or two).

After nearly 5 years of my husband and I trying to get to this point, after all the health, financial, and emotional struggles, and all the BS Buffalo put our file through... it really hasn't sunk in that we don't have to feel like we're fighting them anymore. I wish we could afford the plane ticket for me to go to Buffalo in person, but we really can't. So, I'll be mailing my passport off Monday morning.

For those of you still waiting and, especially, for people like chess101 and Kess who've been waiting for so long: I hope the fact that my messy case of fail has come to an end will give you hope. This great news leaves a bit of a bittersweet feeling for me, both because of the others who have waited longer than me, as well as because the one close friend of mine I would have shared this news with first -- and who would have been there for me when I land -- passed away suddenly a few months ago. Had Buffalo not screwed things up so royally, perhaps she would have lived long enough to hear the news and celebrate with us, but who knows now.

Oh wow Rinnerz !!! I am sooooo happy for you! Congrats :):):)
I cant wait to make you green on the spreadsheet but unfortunately i am using my phone to reply this. Will update spreadsheet asap !
Awesome newsssss :)
