I sent an email yesterday asking the status of my application. I got a reply today stating that my application is in process.

Hello,

Just wanted to report that we got a PPR today! My husband (the sponsored person) received it by email. I am from the Feb group but it was the very end of Feb so we were under the new computer system. I guess the new system is working faster but I really do feel for those of you from the earlier months that are still waiting to hear something and I almost hate to post this news as I know that many of you are so frustrated......but want to keep the spreadsheet updated too.

We are in the flooded area of southern Saskatchewan, under state of emergency, having to boil all of our water and restrict water usage due to problems with sewer back up in our city since last Friday so it was very nice to get some good news today!!

I sincerely hope that you all hear some good news soon too!

I tried sending another email this evening to see if we can get a file # to send in the birth certificate. hopefully they are helpful. last time I got the automated messege saying 30 weeks to get AOR

Funny! Did you send Buffalo an email and ask about your status? Or did you just receive the email out of the blue?

I sent them an email and this was the response I received. I'm glad we are still in this crazy mess together!

Congrats mommyk!!! My husband and I are not far behind you, I am keeping my fingers crossed and my hopes high that we will get PPR soon! :)
I was talking to my husband on the phone last night and started crying because I feel so bad for the December/January/Febuary group. My heart breaks for them and as much as I want my PPR to come soon, I can not help but feel for the applicants that applied so many months ago. I understand what mommyk said when she wasn't sure if she should post her good news because she didn't want to make anyone feel bad, but I am glad that she did! I know we are all frustrated(this process is the hardest thing I have ever had to do) but we should all be encouraging as well, even when it's hard.
Best of luck to everyone :)

I hope it dries out quickly and that everyone is OK. Congrats on the good news!

Mommyk, that's awesome!! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations. We filed the same week as you, so I'm hoping to hear some good news soon, too. :)

Congrats mommyk !!

And on behalf of all the Dec/Jan/Feb group I can say, that it's the frustration that all of us share. Ofcourse it's obvious that the people who were on the new computer system are getting their files done faster. However, I am sure there was an IO working on your file, who now is probably free to work on ours !! :) So as long as we keep getting PPR's , I am sure we all are glad and get a little more hopeful ! We would love to hear the good news from all of you, so we know that as more an more files get processed, the burden on Buffalo becomes more and more less :)

I just received PPR!!!!. I had sent an email on Monday asking them if they had received confirmation of payment of my right of landing fee (which I had already paid). I just got a reply back today stating they received confirmation and that "We are now in a position to request your passports for visa issuance."

Yayyyyyyyyyyy !!!

A VERY VERY GOOD NEWS :) I can say...maybe we are close!!! :)

Congrats mommyk, that was very nicely put.

For D/J/F group, its like submitting our applications early has become our curse :D

P.S. I asked my wife to email her MP which she did yday morning, lets see if MP comes back with any positive reply.

palamr, thanks so much for letting us know! the news certainly injects new hope into some desperation I was feeling. sparkle, I hope so too!

1 week until my work permit status expires.. if they can get PPR to me in one week (well, technically 6 days, so I could show up there next Thursday), I don't have to file for an extension, and it would save some money and stress..

I can dream, can't I?

Congrats to all those who have got their PPR! Praying for the Nov-Feb group, hope you hear good news soon.

Question: are the American spouses having a hard time getting work in Canada? My husband has been applying for two weeks now and we have yet to get a call concerning an interview.

Keeping fingers crossed!

I've had trouble getting work in Canada for well over 9 months now. (I started looking 3 months before my job ended, 6 months ago). (and I have a PhD!)

However, I had some other odds against me besides being American. One being that I had a work permit that would have to be re-sponsored (with a LMO), and the other being that I am in Montreal (and my French skills are still at beginner's level, so far).

Hoping for PR (and the accompanying right to take French classes again), to solve those problems!
