Wish I would get some reply! I have contacted them several times in regards to changing my address and have included all the information I have seen that they need and they still won't e-mail me back.

Huge sigh.
I'm so sorry to hear this. It did take me four total attempts to finally get an answer, I spaced the first and second e-mails out by a month, and then the next was two weeks later, the last was one week later. It was terribly frustrating. /comfort

Just a quick update: my husband got PPR today, June 20/11.

We're quite overwhelmed/thrilled/shocked/excited.

If anyone applied in Fall of 2010, there's still hope!!!

That's great news, congrats!

I noticed in your profile the meds were done in May of last year, did they request a new copy or extend the validity?

Hey all,

I've been posting in the March thread, but I should share my timeline here as well:

15/3/2011: Application sent
16/3/2011: Application received by Mississauga
14/4/2011: Sponsorship approved
21/4/2011: Application received by Buffalo
7/6/2011: Status changed in ECAS to in process, medical results received
20/6/2011: Email from Buffalo: passport request for visa issuance

I'm freakin' ecstatic -- it's been under 100 days so far (98!) and I was preparing myself for a long wait, based on some of the timelines of the December/January groups and lack of updates from them :(

I do have a question though before I go back to celebrating another step in the process. I obviously want to send my passport off ASAP, but with the Canada Post strike, I'm not sure the best way to get my documents to Buffalo. I'm in Canada right now (Vancouver); should I be sending it to Ft Erie or to Buffalo (I'm pretty certain the latter, just doublechecking)? And should I wait til the Canada Post strike ends (hopefully this week) or send it via UPS? If sending via UPS, do I just include a prepaid return waybill or should I affix said waybill to a document package box thingy? The instructions on the CIC's site are kind of confusing :| Sorry for the dumb questions, just want to make sure I do this step right!

Congratulations hbwpg!! That is great news. Looks like you've been waiting a long time. I'm sure getting the PPR is a big relief! Best of luck to you.

Congratulations to you as well, Fizzlefunk. That was fast! I've been waiting about 2 weeks longer than you. Maybe I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news, too. :) Good luck to you!

Brilliant! Congrats!!! Hopefully that's a sign that processing for all of the other waiting applications is going to speed up as well.

hi everyone, just wondering whether anyone submitted phone bills with detailed call logs when a couple living together. Also when I read the country specific instruction, it asks for

IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS
Provide birth certificates, baptismal certificates, national identity card or certificate (Cedula) where available, or other official document confirming relationship (including all pages of Household Registries) for you and each of your family members.

Anyone submit all pages of Household Registries?

Thanks a lot ! this is a really amazing thread!
Can some one help me on my questions? thanks a million!

We did not live together and did not submit phone bills simply because we did not have them. We have not saved the old ones, and in the past few years were primarily using Skype. If you call each other a lot while living together, then submit them. Why not? The more evidence you provide them, the better.
For the other documents, we submitted a copy of the passport and marriage certificate. I do not remember them asking for a household registry.

How do you find out if your application was received in Buffalo?
My husband (sponsor) has a client ID to log into ecas but I do not have an ID yet.
I am worried that my application did not make it out of Canada before the postal strike.

Thanks for any feedback you may have!

My wife is the sponsor and I log into ecas using her details and the client ID. ECAS says that my application has been received in Buffalo on June 13th. This update took about 10 days after my wife received the email from CIC confirming she was approved as sponsor.

I hope this helps

pdb1 thanks for responding!
when i login as my husband it states 'Application Received' but it doesn't say where...is it Buffalo or when they received it in Mississauga?

when i click on the link it states...'we received XXXX (me the person being sponsored) application for permanent residence on june 9, 2011.' The date would be way off if it is when the application was received in Mississauga...they approved him as the sponsor 2 weeks prior to the date 'application received.'

so would this be the date received in buffalo???!!! i hope so!!

Yes Mala...that means that it was received in Buffalo if it has the Priciple Applicant or person being sponsored name is showing application received....

HURRAY!!!
THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT NEWS!!
I was fearful it was stuck in Canada and didn't make it out before the strike.
I appreciate the speedy reply!
You made my night!!

No Prob....CIC does not use Canada Post when sending apps to the consulates. The use a diplomatic courier....so all the transfers will be fine, just people who sent apps in via Canada post before the lockout...
