Hi Friends Ecas has updated

We received *********** application for permanent residence on January 26, 2011.

We started processing ********* application on May 23, 2011.

What are the next steps

I just wanted to update that I landed on Tuesday and all went well. I landed at an airport at 10 pm. (I was on vacation when I got PPR and landed when I came back to Canada.) It took less than an hour to complete everything. All went smoothly, and yesterday I got my SIN, began the car importation process, and registered for provincial health insurance. All went smoothly (and quickly!) at each of these places, much to our surprise. Only a few more administrative things left to do now as I get settled...

I wish you all the best!

I emailed Buffalo yesterday to tell them about my (sponsor's) passport renewal and also asked the status of my file!

They replied -

Due to high volumes, we cannot acknowledge receipt of email, fax, regular correspondence (applications, payments, documents or information) or medical exam results.

If you have recently submitted documents or information to this office, we will update your file accordingly, if needed.

If we require additional documents, we will contact you.

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo

Good ?? Bad ?? :S

I think that is a standard response. I got a similar one a while back in response to an inquiry.

Congratulations QC Sunshine! We're glad to hear of your smoothexperiences...it gives us hope that our process may run as smoothly.

Thanks boomerang11 and FeakySnucker. And I wish smooth landing experiences to everyone else too. :) It has been such a nice surprise after the difficulty of all the waiting time....

My 4 year old son had his medical this morning and it couldn't have gone better! With his autism it's hard to predict if a trip to the doctor will be a success or end in an enormous meltdown. Today was a success! The DMP was extremely nice and patient with him. He finished the exam quickly and gave us the IMM1017 at which point my son threw his hands up in victory and jumped up and down shouting YAY!!! It says right on top of the IMM1017 that he is Excessive Demand Exempt-Family Class, a big relief. Everything is now done. We are just waiting to hear from Buffalo (like everyone else) to see if they need additional documentaton, or if we're good to go. :)

Congradulations Puzzle. I know this was a big worry for you as you described earlier, and happy that it went the way it should. Welcome to the wait. I really can't believe what has happened here. Nothing really new this week. I wonder if the computers had a meltdown or something.... Another week, and no news for anybody which is particularly odd. Here is to hoping for better next week.

Thanks Avon. Yes, let's hope for a little more progress on Buffalo's part this coming week!

Very glad to hear your son's medical appointment went smooth!

Thanks Mommyk. The doctor and his staff were so kind to my son. They really went out of their way to accomodate us. I wish things went as smoothly with the CIC and Buffalo as his medical went today.

There isn't going to be any movement until that week they close the office to eliminate the backlog. Well that's my logical thinking!

My Wife got an email from Buffalo on May 26 our application has been received and the file has been created! Glad to know that our paperwork has made it!

I got my initial assessment today. The letter was dated May 18 (which is the date my eCAS changed to in-proceess). It says we have competed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview.

But, it also says:

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permenant Resisdence fee in Canada - This must be received at this office by :08/16/2011

But I already paid both the fees ($1040). Can somebody please tell me, what I should do? Should I mail the copy of my receipt?
