Help!!
I just recieved a letter from Buffalo for an interview schedualed on June 1, 2011..I want to change the location...on my application, I did put Detroit, Michigan as preferred interview location..any help would be appreciated..
thank you

Unfortunately, you have no say in the matter. Though you put Detroit, they chose Buffalo. They probably figure it's not that much farther (driving or flying), or perhaps other reasons (overbooking at Detroit, understaffed, etc)

You'll have to go to Buffalo.

If you haven't done so already, you should order your CAIPS notes as soon as you can. They may give you some indication of why you have been called to an interview.

I will order CAIPS note as soon as possible..

My timeline is:
applied on Sept 25, 2010..
approved on Oct 25,2010..
additional doc request from buffalo Nov 18, 2010
Buffalo started permanenet residence application on Dec 10,2010
recieved intial assesment on Dec 23, 2010
nothing after that
Today,March 5,2011 recieved Interview letter (interview schedualed on June 1, 2011) :(

My husband contacted his MP on Feb 22,2011..we didn't hear anything from the MP yet..They told us it will take 2-3 weeks to hear from them. Buffalo sent me interview letter a week we contacted our MP...

When you received the initial assesment? What does it says? Interview waived? etc? Just trying to figure out why you got the letter for interview now....

My initial assesment said,

This is to advise you that your application for permament residence has been recieved at the regional program center and that a file has been created or you. Your file number appears above. Quote this number when corresponding with our office. You will be informed whether or not you will be required to attend an interview. Instuctions will be given to you at that time.

And they never confirmed my medical. I did send it with my complete file...

Ohhh I see! This is actually the AOR. Bummer! Iam sorry about your interview. Did you send it alot of proof or relationship? such as pictures, travel, receipts, emails, etc?

Whats the minimum amount of pictures you would think is enough? We sent about 40 and I hope its enough :( I sent some of our first few trips to Florida when i visited, when our daughter was born up here and from when shes been growing up in the last year (shes a year old), and then family outings with us and the kids.

We included may be 100 pic or so...phone bills for 3 yrs, birthday cards, boarding pass..it was a big package..

We're all in a similar situation either Buffalo is backed up or they lost our info! It frustrating esipically when you've paid everything and done everything right. But I have no idea what's going on!

Seeing that so many of the people who applied in Aug 2010 got their PR in Nov, I too can't help but wonder if maybe they lost something. I am hoping the CAIPS notes will shed some light.

What citizenship is the applicant? I feel as though it might raise some eyebrows if you're not applying through the home VO. I ask this because of your name here...

There are a couple people recently that have another citizenship other than American (Indian). That have been called in for interviews or are waiting for a date through Buffalo.

I did find a BF date, but it was back in June 2010 so I assumed it was an old BF note...
any ideas?

When our MP contacted CIC, they just got a canned answer saying it can be 11 months or longer for processing, and basically had no information.
I'm out of ideas as to what comes next or how to get anything moving.

Same as my MP he got answered that.. just make sure they did not lose any paperwork and you'll be fine

Oh and to all yesterday e-cas tracker got an update:

"A decision has been made on (My wife) application. The office will contact (My wife) concerning this decision."

so it's like I know already you sent her an email like last monday :P
Passport was sent through 1 day mail yesterday so on monday they will receive it hope they will take less than their 15 open days that they say in the sending passpost webpage

anyway i will be here less often... we will start packing. Her initial landing will be almost after receiving the passport back and her final move will be a tad later since we do not want her to wait the whole 3 months wait for healthcare due to her need for follow up during her cancer remission

so take care and see you around. If people have questions please private mail me :)
