Truly, I'd have no problem paying a priority processing fee of $1000-2000, if it meant my wife's application could jump the queue and reduce processing time by 2-3 months. It would mean she could be earning money here that much sooner!

You could probably do that. In fact, they recently fired some IO's for taking bribes. I'm sure they didn't catch all of them. ;)

however if they catch the IO and backtrack the files they can easily expulse and ban the better half of the one that paid the bribe.. so you know i still prefer to stay legit about it

Oh me too! But to each their own. If I was immigrating from Mexico to the U.S., all bets would be off. I'd be coming in legally or not.

Just so we're clear -- I didn't mean a bribe, rather, just like with "priority processing" for passport applications and renewals (that reduce the processing time by half), that CIC could do something similar in this setting.

still waiting on caips notes, and anything else buffalo might decide to send my way. :/ hehe

I was just making a joke, that's all. :D

I mentioned this idea in another thread some time back. If I could pay another $2500 or so to get it processed with greater priority, it'd be a win-win. My partner and I would be ecstatic, and CIC would make a TON of money.

It doesn't seem fair, though, for people who can't afford it. Am who am I kidding, I wouldn't be able to either. It'd be another $2500 on my credit card. :-[

Just got the confirmation from Fedex that CPC-M received our package. Now what?

now you settle in for a long winter's nap. :) in about a month to 6 weeks or so, or less if you are lucky, you should get an update/decision regarding your sponsorship portion of the application.

We are still waiting for Buffalo to receive our CSQ, and it feels like it's taking forever! :( We're hoping they will approve us any day!

Haha yeah I figured as much. From what I understand, there's no way for me to check the status of anything just yet until my application to sponsor is approved, right?

You can check your application status online at the CIC's website. However, I will warn you that they give you hardly any details. My status has been "decision made" and "in process" for months.

You can sign up for the ecas tracker, https://ecas.carroll.org.uk
this will alert you of any changes to ecas. This is not a CIC link however one of the forum member designed it and it is a godsend so that you don't have to check your ecas all the time! Good Luck!

Ah, looks like I have to wait a bit. I just tried to sign up for ecas on the CIC site and was refused. The app was just received and processing has yet to begin.

In any case, thanks for the tip!
