Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

They did not ask for anything out of the ordinary for the interview just official copies of things like original marriage cert, passport, divorce decree, and evidence of our relationship. I did order CAIPS notes 2 months ago and still have not recieved them so I have no idea why I am being interviewed in particular. So I do not know what to expect at the interview. I am not sure if the interview is due to the fact that I am muslim or that I did not include pictures since they are prohibited in my religion. I included skype records going back since we met, gas reciepts from my trips to canada, and reciepts from things we did together. I even included cards written from my mom about her support and knowledge of the relationship. So I guess I will see at the interview what they are questioning. Ijsut hope that they issue the visa the same day.

Fo me it is even worse in a way, i contacted my MP reprensentative again, he answered me one week later because he was on vacation. Now he sent a request for an update on Tuesday and he said he would contact me if he gets news... well guess what he did not call! stupid Buffalo i do not like them at all

well monday i call him again... this is getting nowhere and i am almost at 1 year done

personally i think we're in the same boat. we were in a pocket, and they simply havent looked at our applications in ages, and its anyone's guess when they will get back to us again. i've ordered my caips notes.... going the MP route for us was absolutely useless, i'm not even sure they even really looked into it at all, because the mp's secretary who apparently screens all his mail decided that just because it hadnt been 11 months yet, we didnt deserve any help.

Okay, I'm officially an idiot. Got the 4 pictures taken at Walmart. They stamped the back and added their date-taken stamp and put them in their little folders. I simply put this into the folder holding the application and sent it. None signed or birthdated. All with date-taken stamps. No white envelope. What is going to happen Hopefully it won't be a big deal because it's just one person applying for PR. Please help I thought I was SO careful with this application and was RELIEVED to send it LAST NIGHT.

We forgot the photos had to be signed and also forgot to write the birth date on the back (my husband was the single applicant). Nothing bad happened.

Good! Because I didnt put the photos in a white envelope I left them in the same wax paper envelope it came in from where I took the photos!

Just curios about the 3 photos they ask for when they tell you to submit your passport - what size are they asking for? Passport size or Permanent Residency size? Cause if it's Permanent Residecy size I'm going to have take them out when I go to Canada and keep them until they ask for them - I can't find a place close by me here in NY that does Permanent Resident size.

My wife and I used an online service that does the immigration photos to the specs they are looking for. It was fast and easy, you send the digital file to him, and he prints them off and send the photos back, in just a few days. decent prices too, and hassle free of finding someone to do it, driving, etc.

Piker - I'm really amazed how you and your wifes timeline is so fast - we almost have the same timeline with submitting our application just one month apart. Just wondering if our situations are similar?

Me: Applicant (27) US Citizen - born, raised and living in Queens, NY
Husband: Sponsor: (26) Canadian Citizen - born, raised and living in Toronto, ON
Started talking: Sept 2001 - Official couple by Oct 2001
Flew, and drove back and forth to see each other mostly on a monthly basis up to date
Communicated mostly by phone, and emails (emails were never saved - never knew we would of needed them) we sent in all of our detailed phone bills, credit card statements showing purchases of airline tickets, boarding passes and itineraries that we started saving AFTER we read up about how to sponsor and decided we wanted to go down the sponsorship road. Also pictures of us being involved with each others family and friends throughout the 9 yrs. Copies of cards we sent each other for birthdays, valentines day, or just simply because we wanted to.

Well the person from my MP office is working as my village councillor in my city and well he knows my mother and family so it help but i would give it a shot again at your MP it's worth harassing or even calling the office directly

My husband is from Grande Prairie where his family is fairly well known by the MP, so we're going to go through that one instead of our local one, or at least try... hopefully it will make a difference.

DKA- I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post which site. I have no interests, etc. we just found this very convienient for us. Just before I went to get my wife Visa, she sent off a couple pics, and she recieved them in the mail four business days later.

Our situation was much like yours perhaps, I am Canadian born, lived in Canada my whole life. And she was American born, and lived in her home state her whole life. Niether of us has any children, I think that greatly simplifies things in making the decision. We have been able to visit each other every 4-6 weeks since we met in Dec 2008. we didn't really keep incontact via the internet, my work schedule doesn't make it feasible. We talked everyday and sent thousands of texts monthly.

Hi all...

So, I'm reading everyone's posts (at least the last couple pages), and starting to wonder about something - when my wife's visa is issued, do we have to go to Buffalo to pick it up? We know Buffalo is our VO, but we're on the west coast! It would be difficult for us to make that trip, plus we have three kids......

Please tell me what I'm missing, here......
