There was a delay originally due to our FBI clearance fiasco (took 5 sets of prints to get a report back). Now, its anyone's guess. We already enlisted the "help" of our Local MP, (complete waste of time), so, we're just sitting here waiting. Plus, our medicals I believe just expired, so that's going to be the next issue most likely, assuming anyone even looks at our file in the near future.

try another MP? i found 2 MP's that would helpme

Hey everyone,

I have a question, so when I mailed in my passport 2 weeks ago today I didn't realize that I didn't put one of those stickers on it until just now when I was going through my old mail and I saw the stickers, does anyone know what will happen? I did however write my file # ontop like they said to do.

Another question what is the average time it takes to get back the passport or pr visa?

Thanks! :)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to inform you all that I received my passport today in the mail with the visa attached to it, so now I guess I just need to check in and get the pr card. I will call and see if I can just go to a CIC office in Ottawa or what. I also will be applying for the OHIP card. This past Fri. my husband and I found out we are 6 weeks pregnant. So, I will check in with everyone and hoping for the best for you all :)

There is a way you can land from within Canada (i.e. without leaving the country). However it's my understanding that the waiting time for an appointment is anywhere from 2-6 weeks (depending on where you are located). Hopefully someone else will be able to supply additional details about this bit.

Since there is a three month waiting time for OHIP and since you are pregnant, it may be a better idea to just drive down to a US border and land as soon as possible so that you can kick off the OHIP waiting time earlier rather than later.

Congrats!

Scylla,

Thanks so much for replying, I appreciate that! :) and I will definitely check into where I can check in today I will call the customer service number.

When I called OHIP they said it will take 3 months from the date on my letter showing my permanent residence status.

Has anyone in Alberta utilized an MP?

anyone got news?

aside that i got and still have the flu and that experienced the nice snowstorm in NYC nothing. In regard of the latest.. i still cannot believe that people literally throw all their snow in the street to the point of blocking the entire street... i almost got stuck a few time. good thing i had equipped my wife car with winter tires.. okay that's all for today lol

( in case i got the visa to go to the united state ) , the problem is i dont have statut in canada , and in case i wanted to get back canada after the interview i dont think i ll be able without visa for canadian visa office !!
do you think guys if i pass the interview very well , they will give me visa of the pr visa to come back to my wife ??
they didnt ever ask my wife to come with me , but i ll bring here to go with me to the interview...
anybuddy has the same case please? an idea
be helpfull please ( without guessin somethin negative as a lot did !!!!!!!!!! )

thank ya
good luck
happy new year lol

well sadly for you there is nothing certain that they will issue the visa on the interview date. A friendly advice i would ask for an extension of visa if possible that way you would be safe. There is a change you might get the visa but like i said no guaranty

Amine I remember your older posts. Happy to hear you've worked things out with your wife. Did you get your visa to attend the interview in the States? If so you would have to cross your fingers they give it to you the same day. Another question how did you apply through Buffalo if you don't have valid status in Canada? Just wondering :)

no news ofcourse... and freakin still havent gotten my CAIPS i ordered in early november! my medical expires in FEB... do u have to get another one or it depends on the situation. i really dont want to pay for it again. i wrote a really harsh email to SIRC and CSIS but the SIRC guy asked me to write why i think my complaint is valid. so sick of this process honestly! i cant wait to freaking work dying of boredom at homeeee

Sauga, I am sooo with you on the boredom. I'm going insanneee! lol. I've mailed in all my requested additional information so now all I can do is wait and hope that what I sent was enough to convince for an approval. Other than that, no news :(

My MP never returned my email, my medical also expires the first week of FEB. Lame. So I'm wondering the same thing, if it was approved in FEB would I need to get another one? I'll see if I can find any info on it...

Happy new years to all and good luck :)

Hi all! It's been a long time since I posted - I thought all my worries were over since I got my PR!

I sent my passport in to have the Visa put in (by mail) and it arrived, had the visa put in, but never reached me! It should have come a few weeks ago. So my passport is almost certainly lost in the mail!

Does anyone have experience with this? I have to apply for a passport from my home country, which will take over a month.

My question is: Once I get my new passport, will the Embassy put in a NEW visa, allowing me to land? Surely I will not have to do a whole new application.....

Thanks very much
