Hopefully it'll be smooth and fast sailing from now on!!! I still can't believe it took them 2 months to get around to opening our files!!

Ugh...Buffalo needs to hire more people....

So if looks like it's taking two months from the time sponsorship is approved to "In-Process" in Buffalo. Is that when the AOR comes, too? For some reason I thought the AOR comes after about a month.

AOR is kind of the same thing as being 'in process'. It's the official letter that you get as opposed to a change on your ecas status. Most people get the AOR letter after ecas changes, but some people get the letter first. It's basically two notifications of the same thing, that your file has been opened and is being reviewed.

It looks like Buffalo are working on late May applications. I have seen passport requests, etc for applications that were sent in late May. 2 months away from me....And the waiting continues.....

Still waiting for the letter from Buffalo. :'(

My husband and I are at wits end about now. They must have sent the letter by donkey or something.

Do you think calling the call-centre will help?

Some people in May have had updates but I wouldn't say they're working on all Mays. There are still plenty from April, March, and even February that haven't been finalized yet. It's nice to be able to measure ourselves by the timelines of others who have gone before but really we all have to realize it could still be any amount of time. Nothing is set in stone, unfortunately. :-\

@ Lys - you could try but I'm willing to bet they'll tell you to just wait for the letter. You might be able to get them to resend it incase it was lost or the sent it to the wrong address, though?

Woo! I'm in process as of August 18th! I guess the odd emails were correct and now it's 'official' on ecas!

Yay!! Finally! I was getting nervous for you!!

Oh my! Well hopefully soon?!! :o
I will pray for you, and that you receive good news soon! Best of luck.

I applied in late April and am still waiting for a decision. I have been "in process" since the beginning of August. Let's all hope that since summer is almost over that B'lo starts working a little harder, and pumps out those PPRs! ???

I contacted the call centre and they told me the following:

-I have to wait for the letter
-The call centre cannot see any information in the visa offices, only in the Canada portion of the application
-The call centre cannot have the letter re-sent
-If I want the letter re-sent I have to contact Buffalo directly
-Buffalo does not answer phones and can only be reached via e-mail, fax or snail-mail

The lady was very nice and she did send me an email with all of Buffalo's coordinates.

I guess we just keep waiting.

You know, I think I knew that. Sorry, didn't think about it :-[
Send a case-specific inquiry to Buffalo if you don't get a letter soon. :)

Finally I got an e-mail from the e-cas tracker today that informed me that me application is now "in progess" since Aug 19th. Glad to know after 2 months almost that Buffalo is finally looking at my file.

Yay jmni1.. it's been a good day for many May people :) Hopefully we will all get PPRS soon.

Lysiana, I hope you get that letter soon! I think I recall that you already emailed them.. maybe try again if it's much longer? It's annoying that they only use email as communication. As in my case, it can sometimes cause a lot of confusion.

Hi all,

I got my AOR, and a letter from Buffalo asking for my security clearances. I was expecting them to ask for the one from the FBI, and had it all ready to mail.

The part that worries me is that they also requested clearance from Israel. I had anticipated this, and followed the procedure on the CIC website for getting a Certificate of Good Standing by going to the Israeli consulate in NYC. The problem is that you can only have the certificate mailed to either the Canadian embassy in Tel Aviv, or to an Israeli consulate/embassy abroad. There are no instructions for how to retrieve the certificate from either location.

So I requested to have mine sent to the Canadian embassy in Tel Aviv, figuring that it would at least be in the possession of the Canadian government. But now what? Buffalo is asking for it, and I don't know where exactly it is or how to get it to them!

In my PR application, I explained that I had it sent to the embassy in Tel Aviv. Either they didn't read that part, or they don't care. I'm really worried and confused. I have no idea how to rectify this situation!

Any advice?
