COPR is confirmation of pemanent residence it's the Document they give when they return de passport ( did you send photocopies or the whole thing?)

They didn't ask for that. they just asked for the passport, 2 photos and a return envelope.

You didn't HAVE to send your passport. (Frankly, I have no faith in Canada Post or anyone else with that!) You could have just sent photocopies of the entire thing and you'd still have the passport. But you should get your COPR when it returns.

This was what was in the e-mail from LA:

Passport
requirements
We require an original VALID passport for yourself and every accompanying family member.
Passports for all accompanying family members must be submitted together.
There must be at least one blank page in your passport(s).
If there are children included in your passport, there must be blank pages for their visas as well.
The immigrant visa that is to be placed in your passport(s) will show an expiry date. You may enter Canada anytime before the expiry date shown on the visa. Please note this date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date, you will be required to reapply and submit a new application and processing fee.
Please note: Immigrant visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

They can still request passport if the applicant is not originally from the US, the country they were born in, only holders of passports from visa-exempt countries do not have to send in the physical passport. The COPR is the document that they give you and they will put a shiny visa in non-exempt passport holders.

I though you must be from visa exempt country , that is why straight asked about copr.
nevermind. even that is good. you will get a shiny visa. so, did you send your passport ?

What the ever loving hell?! Is this a typo?? JUNE 25th apps being worked on according to the site? Date dropped to 66 days rather than 86, and I'm over 100 days. I'm angry. Even if that should be May 25th, they are still past mine. I just called yesterday and they said they hadn't even opened it. Grrr, shoot me now....

My husband's passport is American (he was born in the States). but anyway, we already sent it more than 2 weeks ago

Mine took about 3.5 weeks to get back when I sent it to Seattle. Have you had any eCas updates?

I'd never do something that crazy.

Besides, that's not productive at all.... and a felony. :\

No. No new updates on ecas. Still says in process. But it only said "in process" for about one week before we got the PPR. They also only gave us 20 days to get the passport to them. How long did they give you?

30 days. I've seen that vary quite a bit, though.

Now I'm all confused why would they request the physical passport? Have they changed everything all over again?

you never know about cic....
i guess they changed the whole system for US applicants

Well I now know why they haven't said anything to be despite saying they hadn't even opened my package...

This letter came with our entire application back: http://i47.tinypic.com/11sp72o.jpg

Over 3 months wasted... I feel like I could cry. I don't want to wait another 2-3.

I have to wait on my mother-in-law to forward us the package (our permanent address is where it went) and us to resend it, then start the whole waiting game as September applicants. Does this mean all my 'proof' is outdated?

Also... I highly doubt my forms are old, the stupid immigration officer apparently doesn't know how to open the envelope the forms were in since I'm apparently missing all the forms needed for a sponsor stage. IDIOTS. I put a freaking key guide on the front of the envelope saying they were in there! I feel sick.

Is this seriously going to make my process ANOTHER 2-3 months later? This is a 5-6 month delay!!

Not the only one either from May: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/sponsorship-package-returned-some-advice-t105942.0.html

No file number either to send it back with to prove I'm a May applicant.
