Another bad thing about families not knowing about the thing is my mother-in-law actually thinks the reason mine is taking so long is because I sent too much information. That sending all that wasnt necessary and I just needed a couple photos and forms... not bank info, shared things, etc. It's hard to explain things to people who don't know. Especially when they tell me I should at least try to get a work permit at the border on experience alone even though for my field I have to have a degree for the NAFTA thing. I'm still told to try.. but that would probably create MORE problems for me, than help. -_- Hate when people just don't get it.

I agree, my sister has often said "Does he have citizenship yet???" people have no clue.

They don't i get is he a legal alien now..does he have citizenship? Can he work now? You married him so does that make you an american citizen..I give up trying to explain everything

Ugh. By now, I just say "Nope." and leave it at that. The fam has gathered that I don't want to talk about it anymore :)

Now the only other 2 i'm wondering about is missimpatiend and H82W8...see if they are in process as well...did you e-mail them in the last week?

I did not email them. I emailed them once in June asking if there is anything else they needed from me and I got a email back (a few weeks ago) saying they dont need anything and for me to keep my emails at a minimum so I decided I wouldnt email them again as I dont want to make them mad!

My ECAS does not say my medicals were received. Dont they normally posted that too? should I be worried? anyone else only have "in process" but no word on medicals?

I don't know what to answer to that he did his medicals in december and when I was approved as sponsor it showed medical received but everyone has a different case...

Hear hear! I have friends in the states that asked "Well you're American are you not? So why not move here?" Uhh no I'm not. I still would have to go through immigration there, PLUS I've had so many health problems, I'd rather the free health care :P My disablity worker keeps asking if Hubs is landed yet though.... It's REALLY annoying. I have 4 messages from her asking it.. in a week. NO HES NOT. Trust me, you will know when he lands, cuz I get more money when he lands! LOL

I guess I should count myself lucky - I have a complete copy of my medical file, including the decision by the medical officer and the medical coding - that's the meaning of "medical results received" - just the numeric coding is entered into GCMS, like M01, etc. - she assigned to me.

Of course, anyone can get this just by filing an ATIP request!

Seriously! This application, especially at the beginning and getting everything together was stressful! It put a lot of stress on our new marriage. I mean, I don't regret it because now we are near the finish line, and I guess it helped us to learn more efficient ways to work together, but it wasn't fun at the time. Especially because he has lived in several different countries and the criminal record checks for each country had different processing times and rules in order to receive them.

Also, you guys are right about the family! No one really understands. Luckily we have this forum full of people who do though! :) :)

um?? I am not entirely certain what a cOPR is?? I mean we got the PPR e-mail (or my husband did) and we mailed the passport 5 days later but we haven't heard anything since. When do we get the COPR then?? Or do you know? The PPR isn't the last step?
