Bwahahaha! ??? I'm pretty sure I am a U.S. citizen, lol!

Anyways, on a more serious note, I really don't think there is any system in place with CIC to decide what goes first. Our files are all probably just placed on a roulette wheel, and whoever gets lucky gets lucky, and to hell with the rest of us. Also, all of the CEC apps were going through Buffalo, as well as some of the other U.S. Territories.

Now that that consulate is closing, who knows how much longer we will have to wait. Buffalo told me my file was in Ottawa, Ottawa told me my file is in Seattle, Seattle told me there is no way of knowing if they have my file or not, and to check back in three months.

I used to joke that our 3-year old was going to graduate high school before we finish processing-that joke isn't funny anymore. :(

All files are being processed in ottawa only the visa will come from the Visa office in the states.

;D ;D ;D YAY!! we just saw on the ecase that we're "IN PROCESS" finally!!!
Things seem to be moving along now... thank goodness!
Can you please update the spreadsheet for us (G-Man i think?)
It says it went to 'In processing' on June 25th THX

Good luck one and all!!! :D

Yeah i didn't mean to offend anyone by asking if you are citizens, I just know that you can apply through Buffalo if you are on a visa to the US, and those cases seemed to take longer.

Also...how do we check the ECAS system for updates? Do we get a number or something when our file is transferred?

Officially landed as a PR today! Not a bad way to celebrate Canada Day, eh? ;D

Hi all.. Anyone had any good news re medical extensions in that they got it back with there COPR and are making plans to land? We are still waiting, and gettin somewhat discouraged with it.. 2-3 week wait time is what my hubby was told by the VO in detroit.. its passed the 3 weeks I'm getting anxious.

Congrats g-man!

Lasiar, for the COPR, I knew I had an extension of my medicals when I got my PPR (they said I would have until a certain date to land, which was more than 6 months after the expiration of my medicals).Maybe I got it because my medicals were about to expire when I got my PPR, but at the same time I don't know how they decide to extend medicals or not.

Regarding landing and the B4/B4A, how do you know the value of old furniture you may bring with you (like old family furniture... "antique" if you prefer). How important is the value you write??? (I am not planning to resell any of these items and I have no idea what they're worth... )

Thanks for your help

calissons thanks for your reply, your lucky to have been told about your extension with your PPR. my husband received his PPR back on may 16th, the VO had it may 22.. at that time his landing date was june 13/12.. they called him on June 7th saying he wouldnt have enough time to land and they were sending off request for medical extension to Ottawa which would take 2-3 weeks and his extension would be good for 12months. We are still waiting have heard nothing yet. its very frustrating...

As for the B4/B4A the immigration officer at the border told me to just be realistic in your pricing, he said dont put 5$ on a new 32" flat screen tv for example.. as long as its reasonable they are fine with it.

Wow 10 weeks for a PR card?! oy vey!

I have a couple landing questions that're probably more about nerves than reality, but I need to get this right the first time (true of most everyone, probably, but I'm still nervous). I contacted the consulate and their response was not helpful.

I'm not ready to move yet but have to land by August 12, 2012 and so am planing on flying to Toronto for a weekend and land when I arrive.

My questions are:

1. Does my wife (sponsor) have to come with me or can I land alone?

2. I know the rules for importing a car are different for PRs than for returning citizens. Our car is in both my (PR) and my wife's (citizen) names. Which controls? If necessary, I'll transfer title to her, but it would be better if it were not necessary.

3. Is it that tricky a process where if I screw something up, I'm screwed?

Thanks for your help everyone.
