Oh I really hope so :-*

Just wondering if anyone knows if being extra polite and friendly in emails actually makes a difference when communicating with Buffalo? Like has anyone noticed a faster issuance of PPR when they have gone out of their way to be super polite? This might sound like a silly question but I was just wondering! :)

I don't know as I have only written them a couple of times with the same tone that is usual for me: professional and to the point. Both times I received a reply that was generic but relatively timely.

My own person philosophy on this though is that you have to be in the middle. That is, not too polite and not rude. This is because people tend to give to those who deserve receiving (who act as though things should be given to them). If you are overly polite, you seem desperate (and undeserving). If you are rude, people want to take away from you.

OK, I think too much (!!), but that's what comes to mind when you asked. ::) ;) :D

Hi everyone my wife just got approved 9th may ;D ;D ;D ;D. My file was moved to Los Angeles instead of Buffalo. Does anyone know why my file was sent to Los Angeles instead of buffalo ? I see some peoples file was first sent to buffalo before been transferred to the satellite
offices like Seattle, Detriot or LA. In my case the email just said my VO is LA. Also does anyone know the time line for LA. Thanks Everyone this forum has been a life saver.

Good for you! I have been out of work for 6 months already, so hopefully will have something soon! 8)
Good luck on your new job!

Congrats, elokpo!

Is it the email from "CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca" sent to your wife saying she met the requirements as a sponsor, and that your file is forwarded to the visa office which is LA?

I live in Georgia and mine was sent to Seattle, which is as far away as you can get without leaving the continental US.

I think they just send it to whatever office has the lowest workload.

And right now it seems to be the fastest ones to issue PPR's i asked for NY who know what they will do!

Thats kind of what I was thinking, I dont want to sound desperate begging them! My medicals were sent to Ottawa yesterday and I received an email from buffalo today saying my application was in process and they were unable to provide a date when my application will be complete. e-cas still says application received. does it sound like Im close? it seems Buffalo is issuing a lot of pprs lately and almost everyone who has similar timelines as me has theirs now :( (my application was received October 27th 2011, AOR (email) 20th Jan 2012, additional documents and RPRF request on Feb 13th 2012) Im reallly hoping to go back home for a holiday early June and because I am out of status (because immigration canada doesnt have any record of me leaving and re-entering! ) I need my PPR before I go! This forum has been a lifesaver and I have been following it for months, its nice to know other people are going through the same thing!

Went up AGAIN. Granted it's only a day but grrrr :-\

So I rewrote Buffalo to their message yesterday (see below) and they wrote this: Your file is being forwarded to Los Angeles, no Buffalo. Please contact CPC Mississauga directly.

Anyone know any info about LA???? and I guess I will call Mississauga later as they have said that twice now. Don't know why though. We received the sponsorship approval letter saying it was sent to Buffalo. I guess they meant LA??? I am glad they are so efficient with the info they provide ::) ???

Inspired by other members, I e-mailed Buffalo today as it's been nearly 2 months since our file was forwarded to them and we have yet to hear anything. In my e-mail I was very plain and simple. Basically: just that I was approved as the sponsor and file was transferred to them and here is our file number and UCI, our names, and asked about the file.

This is the form letter I got back:

Dear Madam / Sir,

For information about your sponsorship, please contact the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Canada:

CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, ON
Canada
L5A 4N6

Fax (905) 803-7392

If you are residing in the USA, contact CPC Mississauga by fax or letter.

If you are in Canada, you can reach the Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) call center at

1 888 242-2100

See also this CIC Web page:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp

I guess my mistake was mentioning my sponsorship approval? Totally threw them off? They read sponsorship and stopped reading there and just clicked option "2" of their standard form letters and sent? ???

I have tried a number of tactics - professional, begging and comedy.

None seem to work. >:(
