Hi all

I have a question. How do we know that file is in process now. Do they send email or just via ecas

Thanks

They do not generally send an email....I don't think Ive seen any comments of anyone receiving an email regarding in process....MORE common is just checking e-cas and seeing the "in process"

Good luck!

They update evade online to "in process" but honestly from everyone I have talked to ecad is not reliable. Out file has had 4 letters sent via email and out recast just states "in process" . I personally don't check any mote I think it is not worth the energy as all information to us was sent via email. It doesn't tell you much ... But thrs just my opinion :)

Agree e-CAS is not reliable. I am also not checking it so frequently now. Figured that in case they need anything else from me or notify me of PPR they will send me email anyway. And a few days' delay would not make much difference to several months' or a year's process.

Though I did check e-CAS today and after logging out they provide a link for survey (is it new?). I did the survey and provided comments about the inconsistency in their updating and that insufficient information are displayed on e-CAS re case progress, etc. Not sure if they will review it or do anything about it, but I just did my bit.

Hi Ali_TO, I think your question have been answered in another post. You can also search for 'interview' in this thread and see some old posts shared by other people in this forum regarding their interview experiences.

A lot of us are suggested to order GCMS for interview preparation. The visa officer may have noted something in the system that show what their concerns are, so you can based on the GCMS and address the concerns during interview. Though if you haven't done so, it may be a little bit too late now as it takes about 30 days to receive it but your interview is next week.

In my opinion, I think you should bring any newer proofs to the interview, plus the documents that you sent originally if they are handy.

Good luck on your interview!

Hi
I Live in Toronto. My wife is sponsoring me from outland (Buffalo) we have been living together since we got married last year.
I have interview scheduled next week in buffalo.. pls someone who attended it recently, give some tips.. thanx
Also I have faxed them the confirmation that I will ATTEND THE INTERVIEW AS SCHEDUALED but never heard back from them. am I supposed to receive a confirmation?? pls advise
Also the letter that they mailed to me states that I have to bring docs supporting our relationship i.e joint bank account, phone bills and photos. BUT I already sent them all that when I originally mailed the sponsorship/PR package last year. What exactly they want. do I have to gather all theses docs again, or just get the newer ones after package was mailed.
I sent tme 3 emails in the last month to clarify but never got a response!

Thank you and God bless

Hopefully you'll see something useful in the GCMS notes. And your MP is doing fine in terms of following it up for you?
Hang in there!

You're not alone, Shirsho. I don't have 'Medical Received' showing at my e-CAS either. Many of us don't get any response from VO. I sent them email too but didn't get a response. I called CIC call center and the agent pretty much told me not to expect a response from VO! ;D

Don't lose faith, sweetie. Stay calm, and try to focus on other stuff that you can do... housework, gardening, reading, studying, learning, exercising, traveling... you know those things that you hardly find time/excuse to do when during normal life. :)

So...my husband sent an e-mail to NewYork-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca asking abt the fact that "medicals received" doesn't appear on our e-cas...The response we got was they are pending for some second medical examination...We never got a notification for second medical examination...so we replied back to their e-mail asking for what additional tests...no reply from them.....we sent the last e-mail on thurs...so lets see...I don't understand why they were waiting for some info and didn't even bother contacting/ notifying us...the reply we got was so unprofessional with grammatical and typo errors...I had to read it thrice to understand what they were saying and still I am not sure I understood it completely....I am sooo confused, numb and disappointed...Frustrated....Our life is on hold and they remain so insensitive to it....

Hello everyone,
COPR on it's way here, just tracked it online and it says item processed at local postal facility yesterday, so it should be here in the next couple of hours :))) Sooooooooo happy and excited I can't wait :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
So, I am a US citizen and have applied from outland, but I am here ( in Canada) visiting my husband (for a while) so I have sent the photocopy of my passport and the pictures from here (I got the email for the PPR 2 weeks ago while here) to the Buffalo office through Fort Erie, and I was thinking since I am getting it back here anyway, could I land at the local immigration office in this area?? The nearest border is about 12 hours away and my husband was just on vacation so he can't take time off for a lil while.
So did anyone land at a local immigration office (while visiting) even though they have applied from outland (and received their COPR in Canada)?? (Confusing I know :D )
Oh did I mention that my medical has expired back in November but they have never mentioned anything about it?? Well now you know, so I don't see that it would be an issue for some if their application have been processed and just waiting on their PPR)

Good luck to everyone that is still waiting and hope you hear some good news soon.

Congrats Cycyna! You can call the local immigration office and set up a landing interview, but I've heard it can take months (also heard a few people get one in a week, probably depends on how busy each local office is). We're a long ways from the border too (with 4 kids it takes over a full day, we drive all day, stop at hubby's grandma's house for the night, then drive another 4 hours to the border - better to be refreshed early in the morning lol).

You CAN land without your husband there... drive down, land, spend the night in a motel and drive back. Just an option you might consider.

Your medicals apparently got extended! We have 9 days to the one year on ours, I have no idea if they've extended ours or if we'll make it in time or what lol

Woot woot!!! Item is out for delivery (from the postal facility) :))))))))))))))))) OMG I have butterflies in my stomach and I can't wait, hahahahaha, this is making me more nervous than I was on my wedding day ROFL!!!

Thanks awor :))))) I know I don't need my husband to be with me if I decided to land at the border, but I hate the drive all the way there by myself :D I thought of just going back home (Chicago) but the plane ticket is darn expensive, almost $1000, and my return ticket is not until the end of June (A big mess I know :D ) So I guess I will just go to the local immigration office (I tried to call them before to ask the same question but I keep getting a full voicemail) the office is literally 10 minutes walk from where I am now, hopefully they shouldn't be busy because it is a small city here (Halifax) so I will cross my fingers and hope they have something this week or so :))
As for your medical, I think if they started processing your app then they get extended, they have received my app in July 7th, sent it back to my husband in september because we forgot to sign one of the forms (I was in Europe on vacation then) so he emailed me the form, I signed it, faxed back to him and he sent the package back, in Dec 1st they sent me an email letting me know that my file is in Buffalo and they started processing my app in January 11th, all that and they have never mentioned that my med expired months before that, I don't think it matters once they get the app, I think it only matters when you send you app they shouldn't be expired, who knows.
Hopefully you wont have any issues nor bumps and everything happens fast for you and your family :))

So we have decided to go across the border on Easter weekend in order for me to land, I tried to get an appointment w/ the local immigration office, but they have nothing available until 10 weeks + from now, so we thought we'll just drive the 10 hours or so, oh well, it is a long weekend anyway :))))
Happy Easter everyone :))

oh could you add us to the spreadsheet too!! We sent in our application on 02/23/12 and it was received on 02/27/12 Thanks!

Congratulations!

Have you considered taking the ferry one way and making it a circle trip (St. John, New Brunswick to Digby, Nova Scotia) or stopping by Minister's Island to drive on the ocean's bottom at low tide (super cool!) to make it more of a vacation/celebration?

Hi mameelynn, you're on the spreadsheet now. Welcome to the Buffalo club!

Hi elokpo, your application received date is updated. Sorry for the mistake.

Well I got my GCMS notes today but havent had a chance to look at them yet.
