It's different case by case. You can probably look at the Buffalo spreadsheet for reference.

If they're looking at your medicals now, would it mean you're at the final stage, hopefully?

Honestly I have no idea. I don't know if there's a procedure of medicals first/middle/last part of the process - or if the VO goes over them whenever they feel like it at the first/middle/last part of the process *sigh* I am VERY hopefully they can find them soon and it is almost over (I'm going to call the doctor and fax Ottowa tomorrow and see if I can "grease the wheels" though).

Hope you find it soon! I remember seeing one thread about the doctor office made a mistake that the medical was accidentally sent with a wrong name.

Oh my gosh I didn't think of that. I had my medical before we got married. I'm emailing LA again to let them know it has a different last name!!! Thanks!!!

That's exactly why I had my wife keep her last name until PR was done and baby has her US citizenship, to avoid complications (or even added paperwork/time) with changing her name. :)

I debated, but at the time, I knew so little about the process and how Buffalo would view our relationship if I didn't take his name (plus I really wanted to, since my previous last name was from my marriage to a monster)... if I had known how long it would take to get our proofs together after the wedding (married april 30, didn't have everything ready til mid-august), I would have waited until I got my new passport then done the medical. Oh well. Hopefully they can find it with my previous name now.

Sorry to hear that, Calgary-Bound. Is there any excuse that you can contact them via the Case Specific Enquiry like updating address or asking about redoing medical, etc, and that may prompt them to give you some updates?

Case Specific Enquiry (Source: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=buffalo)
You may use this form if:
•You wish to report important changes regarding your application, such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces, adoptions, changes in address, changes in employment, acquisition of a new educational credential, results of an approved language test.

Hi Awor,

We visited Canada 3 times during the process (and are in Canada now) so... probably "inside".

Just curious: Just how many of you are doing Common Law -- and how many of you have already done it and been approved? Seems like most everyone has already gotten married on paper rather than fact-based.

Yeah, fortunately when I called my car manufacturer in Canada about the recall letter, the person I spoke to said it would be free if I called the US office for it.

Really? Oh that just frosts my flakes. I think I'll call down to one of the local Chevy dealers in VT then about getting a letter just in case they ask for one. I will throw an absolute fit if I have to pay a private company $270 for a letter that says that there have been no recalls on my car.
