She's obviously mentally ill. DIdn't read all of the posts but risperidone is an anti-psychotic (I'm a doctor). We use it to sedate people or people who have schizophrenia or bipolar sometimes take it on a regular basis. The fact that she keeps posting nonsense and reading her words feels like a mile a minute signals to me that she is probably bipolar and manic right now. She needs help.
When someone has symptoms related to schizophrenia or bipolar disease are patients institutionalized? Or are they safe to be around public?

Just got back from the post office where I mailed my passport to Fort Erie. Yes, the PPR email came earlier today. Finally, finally, finally I am out of this immigration hell. Needless to say, my best wishes go out to everyone still waiting but especially those that have been waiting the longest. After all, sometimes this process gets a little redic - so much so that they should maybe have an SNL skit about how long people wait for - like show someone dropping off their application as a young person and then while laying on their death bed, lo and behold, they get an email from Buffalo requesting their passport......and they die happy. Okay, that was a gross exaggeration :)

Another one bites the dust!
Congratulations! PPR came sooner than you expected!

They used to be institutionalized, if psychotic enough. But since the 90s, governments have been closing down institutions in favor of treating these patients in the community.

In fact, it is known that a large proportion of the homeless in the downtown eastside of Vancouver have mental illness.

congrats ddrobro2! Have been praying for you for a long time. Hope you'll still stick around to give those of us behind you support.

Ok, in Vancouver I saw this street where tons of homeless are residing and I still can't find any answers as to why this city has so many homeless, why they're all in downtown next to expensive hotels, why the city is allowing them to live there and etc. Does anyone have any answers to my question?

Congratulations ddrobro2! ;D

Congrats DDBORO. Hopefully ours will follow shortly.

YAHOOOOOO !!! Finally! Congratulations ddobro2 I am happy for you!

Thank you so much to all of you who posting congrats. I really appreciate your words.

I updated you on the spreadsheet per your PM, cantor2537, and I think I have everyone pretty much updated so far (I guess I won't be making any changes to account for whether someone is already in Canada, anyway there's already a lot of stuff I type in there as it is and there are links to people's profile pages if anyone is curious to see past posts where people mention this information).

Thanks sooo much. :) Yes, it's hard to leave this forum when you've been here this long, lol.

Praying for you, Ichiro and anyone else out there who I may be forgetting or who I can't name because they don't post too frequently but who have been waiting for forever and a day.

I guess this puts you in the 20% who go over 11 months category (should one feel special?). On the bright side, it can't be that much longer, can it? Keep buggin' them, I say.

Probably a few reasons.

1) Climate in Vancouver is warmest in Canada so a lot of homeless migrate out here.

2) Government shutting down Riverview, which was this huge psychiatric hospital that once had 7000 beds. I worked there in the late 90s when I was still a student and it still had 800 beds. It's now down to a hundred or so beds and it will be closed soon.

3) The NIMBY-ism of Vancouver, where people purport to care but really nobody wants to put shelters and low income housing next to million dollar condos.
