YAY ECAS UPDATE I am in process as of 6th January :) :)

Yeah. It sure is pretty funny. Now I can't speak for the other states as I've only lived in Michigan, but I believe Michigan is one state that requires proof of legal presence before they'll issue a license, and it's rules are pretty long winded.

Ontario seems to want to see some proof of legal presence as well, but they're willing to look at the visitor record at least. However, if I was some schmo doing a day trip across the border for poutine, and back, then I likely won't be able to get the Ontario licence, as I wouldn't have received a visitor record at the border anyway. (and why would a day tripper ask for these things to begin with?)

Besides, from what I've heard, any self-respecting poutine connoisseur on a day trip would be heading for Quebec, anyway. ;D

Meanwhile, I'm also wondering how the people that are Alberta bound are going to handle their license swaps. At least so we have another province to compare with.

It really is funny how different things are from province to province (I suppose just like it is from state to state), but I tried to get my license switched last year to let me be on my husband's insurance (his company was being a pain). When I tried to do it here in QC I was told I had to have either a work permit or my permanent residency before they'd allow me to get a QC driver's license.

Congratulations! Hopefully, you won't have much farther to go. :)

I know i've gone crazy now because I have found myself for the last hour or so - frantically searching for any sort of clue on timescales between "in process" and either more docs request or PPR.

When I know FULL WELL that no-one knows and its a long as a piece of string lol

Yep, I think we've all been there. I wish there was an algorithm to predict what they do, but there just isn't.

Off to mail my 4th request for GCMS notes. Fun times!

You don't send your requests via email? Wouldn't that be easier for you?

I only request them back that way. It's actually easier for me to mail rather than scan and email.

DDboro,

Let me know about your GCMS notes since we are on the same timeline. My wife and I are just waiting for the PPR/COPR email/mail. We paid her RPFP fee back on November 7th after they requested it and I have confirmed with both Mississauga and Buffalo it has been posted, so now were waiting.

I just noticed on the spreadsheet that we're only a week apart. If you don't mind my asking, did Buffalo email you your AOR? Or did you have to email them to get it?
Thanks for your info :)
I emailed buffalo for my AOR.
I've been in Canada from 2002-2009 (international college, university and master), 2010-present.
So I have my client ID since long time ago.
I hired a immigration consultant to deal with my immigration case. (under family sponsorship class)
They havn't received anything (except DM for sponsorship) since they mailed my file.
I emailed bufallo in sept, they claimed that they sent my AOR through email on april 3rd (also noted in GCMS notes).
But apparently I had my file number only after I email buffalo to claim it by myself.

Bingo~ Good memory :D

Not many PPRs since Jan 1st...:'(
Hope buffalo sends out more of them asap.
Cm'on do your job...speed up~! >:(

I was just thinking that in my instance, the VO in Buffalo claimed to have emailed me an AOR over the summer, which I never got. Then after a while of waiting longer and longer without a response, they finally gave me an AOR in November after I prodded them twice for one.

Soon afterwards, I made a request for the GCMS notes on my file, and noticed they had my email address wrong, and that they've moved my file over to Detroit. So, I've went to the Case Specific Enquiry links for both the Buffalo, and the Detroit VOs, just to be safe. Three days later, they sent me an email, stating that they had previously requested me to send my passport and two passport sized photos, to the Detroit VO. I never got that particular email, either. (but at least they sent me a PPR after I gave them the correct email address) For all I really know, I might possibly have been able to land already, though from reading the notes, they said they haven't corresponded with me as of the 20th of December, aside from the AOR they claimed to have sent, that I never got.

So, I was just wondering if perhaps they may have your email address wrong? Have you requested your GCMS notes to see what's up with your file yet?
