Congrats mjh!! It makes me happy to see movements in Buffalo :)

Quince777 and Veronica.law, how did you guys receive the AOR from Buffalo? Is it through email or snail mail? And is it sent to applicant or sponsor? I am still waiting for an AOR from them... Another thing, it seems that the AOR only says the day that Mississauga initially received the application, not the actual day that Buffalo received it.. is that right?

I received it via email too! I think it is probably because of the new barcode form that buffalo received my pr application as the same day as mississagua received my application.

I wish to hv ppr soon!

Got another landing question -- I hope to land tomorrow at Blaine or Peach Arch.

If I schedule vehicles as 'to follow', how long do I have before they must follow? I have one car here that would be easy enough, but another back in Michigan. Not planning to move it until weather is better for mountain travel.

Any other landing advice --- I did read the 'thread' on this -- but any other input would be appreciated.

Thanks all!

there's no time limit

If the security assessment on your GCMS notes says "in progress" then it's probably the security check by CSIS. I don't know what the two parts are exactly. CIC itself does a background check on all countries the PA and his or her family members have lived (this is independent of them checking the police certificates) so that may be one of the "parts."

That is what the second part is.I just talked to my friend in immigration and she said it is basicaly the security part. They check to make sure your not dangerous to Canada basicaly not a threat like a terrorist or anything dumb like that.

Hi!

I am sponsoring my husband who is South African. He is currently living in Canada with me under a visitor visa.
He recently received a letter saying his file was transferred from Buffalo to New York city.
What does this mean?
How much longer before he receives his PR?
where can we get a status on his application?

PR application received in Buffalo NY: June 13 2011
Approved to be his sponsor: Aug 4 2011
File transferred from Buffalo to NY, NY: Dec 22 2011

Thanks!

When Buffalo is to busy with apps they send them to one of there outsources to help out.
There is no certain time when you will recieve PR.Some people have waited a year some 5 months its a toss up.
The best way to get status is to order GCMS notes.I dont have the website wright off hand but it is in this thread or I know someone will chime in with it for you.

Hi all,

How can I order notes? Our file was transferred on Nov.01/2011. Do you think I should order notes now or later?

Heres the website for GCMS notes.

I didnt see a thread yet for January 2012 applicants so I hope its ok for me to post here. We FINALLY got out application sent. That in itself feels like such a huge accomplishment after a few delays. I know I probably have a long long time to wait lol but at least I feel like we are finally started.

You can start one! But I found that this thread was much more relevant than the June 2011 thread for me. The June 2011 thread covers too many different types of applicants -- this is mostly -- although now 100% US emigrants (gee, never used that word -- is that right?)

I was just getting ready to say the samething but you beat me to it.

The monthly threads include various VOs but they should all be family class cases if she's talking about posting in the family class section of this forum. Usually people spend time there lamenting the process at Mississauga and then move over to the VO-specific threads once they are dealing with the major part of the wait.
