After 5 months that I hv sent out my application. I finally received my AOR today jan3,2012. Stated that they have already received my application on August 9. (what a delay) haha
So I have a question, after I have received the AOR how long approximately I will get the file in process?
I also got my AOR yesterday but at least we got it ;)

It was received on Sep. 2

Mail came already today and my passport wasn't in it. Checked on Canadapost.ca and the tracking number still hasn't been activated. Shot a quick email off to the non-f.u. email for Buffalo explaining that it has been more than 15 days since they received my passport and requested items, and asking when I should expect to receive my passport and COPR back.

I swear, when people talk about the horrors of bureaucracy they must be referring to the CIC.

Oh my God!!! I just got my PPR today via e-mail!! It was a very good thing I got my GCMS notes and noticed that they got my email address wrong or else I'd still be waiting!

(ddobro2, please update me!)

Congratulations to you!

It does amaze me that they'd use email addresses, but not require any verification step. Being a governmental agency, you'd think that they'd be quite concerned that they're talking to the right person.

Indeed. You just got me thinking there for a second....but it's all good now. I'm off to see my wife and to get the passport photos done.

Congratulations! Make sure you bring the photo specifications form with you when you go to get your photos done. They're quite particular.

Got it! Thanks!

Ok my MP just called and said all there waiting on is part two of the background check and that everything else has been aproved. So dose anyone have any idea what this consist of?

Congrats mjh!! It makes me happy to see movements in Buffalo :)

Quince777 and Veronica.law, how did you guys receive the AOR from Buffalo? Is it through email or snail mail? And is it sent to applicant or sponsor? I am still waiting for an AOR from them... Another thing, it seems that the AOR only says the day that Mississauga initially received the application, not the actual day that Buffalo received it.. is that right?

I received my AOR by e-mail that I included in the app package. Yeah, it states that they received app on Sep.2 which is the day when it was received by Mississauga. When was your app filed?

If the security assessment on your GCMS notes says "in progress" then it's probably the security check by CSIS. I don't know what the two parts are exactly. CIC itself does a background check on all countries the PA and his or her family members have lived (this is independent of them checking the police certificates) so that may be one of the "parts."
