Thank you jacobsdennis for your timeline. When did you guys get the interview request and the interview date from Buffalo?
Was it back in March 2011 too? I sincerely hope you'll get PPR right after the interview. Good luck and please keep us posted.

AW2011, we got a letter in the mail (not email) dated October 17, 2011 letting us know that our interview was in Buffalo on December 7 which gave us 6 weeks to prepare. We're soooo excited!!!

I'll continue to keep you all updated and pending what happens on that day, I'll be sure to let everyone on here know that afternoon/night on the outcome!

Hi everyone,

Mississauga forwarded our app October 28. Is it weird that I haven't gotten an AOR from Buffalo yet? It's been almost a month

I've never received an AOR, and am now 'in process'. Only correspondence to date was an email to sponsor (no mail ever) saying Sponsorship Approved, and forwarded to Buffalo. So don't be too surprised.

Thanks. E-cas still says for my spouse, whom I am sponsoring, "Application Received". When you click on it, it says "Your application was received Aug 19, 2011" which is the date that I sent the whole package to Mississauga.

Sometimes e-cas takes a while to update and catch up. It usually will for the sponsorship application (they seem fairly on top of updating that portion on e-cas), but don't expect regular or proper updates on e-cas for your application once Buffalo gets a hold of it. ::)

Since email was the only way we knew about that Sponsorship Approval, make sure your email program doesn't accidentally toss the email into a spam folder. How you do that varies by program, but you may want to filter for sending domain of cic.gc.ca

Cheers.

You can email them for an AOR but my primary purpose for doing so was to receive the file number as that was the only way to do so then. Since June, CIC has been including the file numbers on sponsorship approvals from Mississauga, so you already have that if you want to use it to order notes or refer to your file for some other purpose, like sending additional information or sending the passport to Buffalo.

Yeah, I think the file number was on the letter I received from Mississauga. So is that the number you need to refer to when you call or email Buffalo?

yes. not aware of any way to reach them via calling.

So I will be driving down to Buffalo tonight, tomorrow morning will be taking the visa and landing. I just wanted to make sure the docs. I need for the PR visa.

Height & eye color document
PPR email

thats it right?

1 more Qs. I am taking all my stuff in my car but will be returning to USA to sell it. I shouldn't have a problem with this right?

You mean selling your car? Should be fine, as long as you don't register your car in Canada (need to get it inspected if you are).

Another week begins!

Six business days left (including today) until the official policy change-over date for visa counterfoils. Who will fall on what side of the switch? Hmmm.

Praying for everyone that we squeeze out a couple more PPR's before the holiday. Positive vibes, awaaaaay!

dun-dun-dunnnn! :P

Judging by the looks of the Buffalo spreadsheet it looks like the number of applicants through buffalo is declining in the last few months as compared to the spring/summer months..unless there are a bunch of applicants who are not on this forum...let's hope that is not the case! Do you guys think there is a reason that there are less applicants now? Has less applicants in the winter months been the general trend in the last few years? Hopefully less applications that the Buffalo office has to deal with will mean faster processing for the newer applicants and also allow them to catch up on the older apps!

Actually just took a closer look at the spreadsheet and looks like there are much more apps in 2010 than 2011 in general. There were actually many many apps in the winter months in 2010, and only like 1-2 a month for the last few months of 2011...hmmmm....wish they would publish the actual numbers as they come in on the CIC website!
