We were just thinking, if there is any option of submitting the passport in person in the NYC office?

Sure they are. Are you looking at the Choice of Interview Location page in the Country Specific Instructions form for the United States?
Have to admit, it's not there. We had to choose the next closest, being Detroit :(

I have a question about landing.

The landing date is typically 1 year from the date of the medicals, but the process can easily take more than a year. I had my medicals in September 2011 and if Buffalo takes its full 11 months, I will receive my visa in October 2012--13 months after my medicals.

Is it possible that my landing date could be as little as a week or two from my visa award date? And if so, is it possible to fulfill the landing requirement without actually moving to Canada? (As in, given that I only have to live in Canada for 2 years in any 5 year period, could I go thorough the landing process while only visiting, before I've wound up my affairs at home?)

page 3 of Country Specific Instructions: United States has a choice between the four satellite offices, that's true. But OP wrote, "When selecting the USA Offices where I'd like my application processed......" and I actually didn't see "USA" at the time I read and responded, so anyway, I thought that she was trying to select "Buffalo" as her visa office. That's question #4 on IMM0008. Even so, you are not guaranteed to be processed at the Visa Office you indicate in that field (a lot of people actually think there is such a thing as "embassy shopping" when there's not). So to OP: you select "Buffalo" on question 4 of IMM0008 if the PA is an American citizen. As far as choosing to have your application processed at a satellite office instead of the main office and which satellite office that would be, there is no such choice. Buffalo makes the determination to transfer certain files and where. I'm really not sure why they ask people to indicate where they want to be interviewed anyway because I've only heard of people being interviewed at Buffalo.

In the Generic Aplication Form for Canada (IMM 0008), question 4: Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application, for which you can specify Buffalo.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp#u

In the Country Specific Instructions, Document Checklist, last part of Appendix A, Choice of Interview Location, for which Buffalo is not offerred as a choice.

I don't think so. This is part of the reason why they give you a certain deadline for turning in your passport or passport page photocopies. Many times when the medicals expire, Buffalo will extend them and you will be none the wiser (a good thing, people at the Damascus VO, or what used to be it, for example, seem to be routinely re-doing medicals during their processing). They are supposed to give people ample time to be able to land, and as such they are supposed to either extend the medicals or ask you to redo them (not as frequent around here) because like you said, one's COPR typically gives a deadline of the 1-year anniversary of their medical appointment or the date their passport expires, whichever is soonest, to land.

Certainly.

Been busy lately, Congrats to all the in-process applicants and to all who have gotten PRV.

I have few concerns guys and your experience will help me alot.
I was at my bank today for inquiry of my bank statement but was issued a transaction
record in 8x11 size papers and in black not colour.

I have few questions in this regard as im still not sure if the teller really knows what she was doing.

Have anyone ever requested a joint or bank statement from there bank?
If so was there any type of letter in letterhead attach to it and was it signed by the bank manager or issuer?
In what type of papper was the bank statement printed?

Our spousal sponsored application was delivered by FedEx (all 4kg of it!) this morning at 10:35 am in Mississauga. Now the waiting begins. Fortunately, after the last round (31 months to rejection) I've learned to be somewhat patient.

So I got a letter today stating:

"We now have completed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview. While an interview does not appear necessary at this time, we reserve the right to call you to an interview, should this become necessary at some future stage in processing.

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

A signed and completed Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union form (IMM 5409) bearing original signatures for yourself."

They need my statutory declaration of common law form. In the checklist it states this is not necessary unless I have a common law partner co-sponsoring. I now have to schedule a public notary to watch us sign this paper regardless of the stack of information I sent with my application. What a pain. Hopefully this doesn't slow down my application.

Do I send this back to the address on the bottom of the paper?

OH YEAH~~~
PPR la !!!!!!
We received this great news this morning, in CIC website, it shows: We started processing your application on March 2, 2012. Medical results have been received. Then we received PPR on March 5, 2012.
My husband is from New Zealand, in CIC's letter, it said: if you hold a passport from a visa exempt country, this office will not require your passport to finalize this case. submit a clear photocopy of every page in their valid passport. Is that means CIC will send us CORP document by mail to us later?
VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!! CONGRATS!!!
