Thanks dhd! My wife is the Canadian citizen, and my son and myself will be the immigrants. All of the stuff we are importing is the property of both my wife and I. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two links. We will fill out the B4 and B4a prior to landing for goods to follow. I think we are going to have a moving company haul our stuff over the border and store it at the warehouse that immigration provides. I'll rent a truck and pick it up myself once we are settled (should be no more than a few days after the movers drop everything off at the warehouse).

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the invite scylla.
I am sponsoring my husband from USA. We are using an immigration lawyer as my husband is an indian passport holder and living in USA. The lawyer said that Mississauga office should have the application in for May 20, 2011. Waiting for sponsorship approval and then the wait that everyone seems to have at the Buffalo office. I am 5 mths pregnant and I think it would be a miracle if my husband got approved before I deliever in Nov.

I posted this on the December thread just want to encourage my buffalo friends who are frustrated with the process

Just look at the positive side. Remember how long it took to put together the paperwork and the thoughts that the process could take one year or maybe more? lets use that same energy to think positive thoughts. We are closer to the end of the process than the beginning of it. have a smile the thought of reunion is a good thought

Hi friends we are currently waiting on PPR, I am currently in Florida with my spouse we are making plans on the best way to land, a couple of scenarios we are considering are to take the vacation and rent a car deliver the passport to the buffalo office, land spend in a couple days in TO and then return to Florida to finalize the move. we are not really in a hurry since she has a great Job here in Florida and I have an office here plus one in the Caribbean, she is planning to change her career next year she is currently a database manager but tutors maths on the side and is planning to peruse her Doctorate in the fall of 2012 in the learning Sciences using Technology in Mathematics, we visited Vanderbuilt, North Western, University of Illinois and have plans to visit U of Toronto, Harvard and U of North Carolina in the fall. I have my own business so my corporate office can be wherever I decide it to be.

The other scenario is to mail the passport to Buffalo and wait until it is returned I have a residence in TO so there is no problem with the wait for the permanent resident card, we wanted to have the flexibility to be able to live in either place.

Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone would be helpful

We are going to mail our passports to Buffalo (some day) and when we get them back we are flying to Buffalo. Taking a $69 car hire to the border and walking across Rainbow Bridge to land.

Once you walk across the bridge (everyone does it for the view of the falls) and land you can walk over and apply for your SIN card and after that the hotels in Niagara Falls, Ontario are walking distance.

Apparently, there is a deal with Canadians or Permanent Residents renting a car in the US side and crossing the border. The Canadians confiscate it once you land. So rent on the Canadian side.

Edit: Flying to Buffalo vs Toronto saves us $300.00 a head. Pays for a great weekend in Niagara Falls.

Well... I got a response from Buffalo today, after having sent them yet another email this Monday.

Actually, I got two responses, spaced a few hours apart.

Reply 1: (paraphrase) "Your query has been forwarded to the processing team. Please direct all further correspondence with our office through your representative. It is office policy not to respond to representations directly from the applicant when there is an authorized representative." Oh, really? Why am I being told this now after having communicated with them in the past? Pro-tip: if you had been replying to my representative, I wouldn't have had to contact you myself.

Reply 2: (hours later, paraphrase): "We have no record of having your UAE police certificate. We also have no record of receiving any correspondence from you nor your consultant. Last recorded correspondence was from you on April 28, when you inquired about your certificate, to which we replied we don't have records of receiving it." Oh, really? What about the other emails I sent? The ones I know the consultant sent? Conveniently, they don't "have records" of these.

Anything else I have to say about Buffalo would involve a slew of censored words. The second reply ended with them asking me to forward them a copy of the certificate (like we already did 2 months ago?). Heh, but do I forward it or have my consultant do it, since they don't want me contacting them directly? Meh. We'll probably do both, and hope they choose to "have records" of it this time...

Perhaps this was the reason I woke up this afternoon with a migraine.

I am so sorry to hear that Rinnerz. That is my biggest fear, that my application is being help up due to some missing information they are not telling me about :(
