Welcome to the newcomers to this thread! hoping we all hear something good soon. Anyone been able to log on to the cic website to check the status of their application yet? We can't... I think I read somewhere that they usually don't update it in that system until the sponsorship has been process.

Wow, only two Buffalo people. We'll probably be the last people getting PPR too, knowing Buffalo.

We have about half as many people as the October and September threads. I'm surprised.

We need to keep this thread alive. It's almost about to fall onto page 2!

I can't wait for say april - march? Im excited and I don't even know if my application will be done by then lol !! I miss my husband soo much and it's so hard being apart even though we talk and skype daily it's definitely not the same!!!! I wanna go visit him but then i'd have to resubmit my passport n tickets to immigration canada right so they stay updated ? Makes me just wanna sit here and not do anything that they would need more papers for.. !!

hey there jma, I wasn't really putting them in order of received/sent etc, more like adding them in order when I saw someone new on the forum. no worries though, I can rearrange it for next time I do an update.

The office processing the app will be Dominican Republic ..... My app was received this Friday 19/11/10, but i haven't been able to log onto the website just yet, you're right it does say there will be no update until they start processing the application....

geminibella i know exactly wt u mean.. its so not easy living like this. and this huge time difference... i could go on and on lol.. i just hope for everyone and myself that things work out smoothly.. as in no delays no unnecessary hassels.. thats wt im hoping will make all the wait worthwhile.
but then again, sometimes i do think about visiting him or something next year.. its not easy when i know our first year anniversary is coming up sooo sooon and that we wont be together. our marriage was rushed and things after that were just a mix of good and bad things happening! so yea, im trying to just hang in there and figure things out one at a time. im looking for jobs like crazy (ever since i came back late september) and thats not going easy given with the economy + my almost no experience resume!

o well. congrats to all who sent their application and joined the waiting list!

Hello Everyone,

After months and months of forms to be filled out, proof of relation to be searched for, copies made and picturess to be printed out my husband an I can finally say we have over worked ourselves for this!!!

Here's our story...

Myself: US Citizen - Husband: Canadian Citizen
Oct. 2001: started dating
2001-Current: We fly back and forth (sometimes he drives to NY) on a monthly basis to see each other, most visits are events/occassions
Aug. 2010: Engaged
Sept. 2010: Married
Nov. 11, 2010: Shipped out application via Canada Post to P.O. Box address (if I known there was an actual address where I could of gotten a signature confirmation I would be so much relieved right now)
Nov. 15, 2010: Application Received
Now for the torture of long waitin. after all that hard work is done

My husband an I including everything (forms and payments) asked for instead of sending it off piece by piece - hope this speeds up the process.

Has anyone checked the application process timeline lately? It was updated on Nov. 18th - boy do we wish we could of gotten ours in months ago!!

Hey DKA, sorry about that. I'm a bit out of it. I get depressed with all this immigration stuff/not being with my spouse, so I nap a lot, and wake up fairly disoriented.

I tried responding to your PM, but it says your inbox is full. I'm glad you posted in here. It's certainly great to have a bunch of people in the same boat as you, whom you can wait out the process with. Unfortunately, Buffalo is one of the slowest offices (London usually issues PR within a couple months, whereas Buffalo averages 5 or more).

I'm glad your spouse is coming to visit you as well. This is one thing we should be thankful for, that is sharing a border with Canada, which makes travel fairly easy. I don't know how some people do it, where their spouse lives in Canada, and they live in Europe, Australia, Africa, etc. The distance would be too far, the flights would be too expensive, and yeah. We have it very easy.

It's ok - I totally understand. I don't get depressed I just get anxious - I know we only sent the application in a few days ago but it's like ahhh I want an answer now!!

Sorry about the email - I totally forgot this thing only allows like 2 emails in my inbox at a time. Buffalo office is the slowest? GREAT!! Just what I need to hear! LOL Yes I'm glad I finally found something in the same boat as me!!

I'm truly happy for the both of us that our spouse is coming to visit for Thanksgiving. Yes I'm very greatful that our countries share a boarder which makes traveling a bit much easier - the only thing I'm not fond of is that when we used to fly like 9 years ago we used to get round trip tickets for $115 now we're paying almost $400. I guess we have it easier than others who can only visit like 2 or 3 times a year! I don't even want to know how much money we've spent behind purchasing airline tickets!

Blues - sorry for replying so late but about the whole 9 pictures thing I remember to have called Immigration call center and I asked them if I needed pictures of his family as in parents and brothers and sisters who were not accompanying and they said no what it means is basically if he had children of his own which thank god he does not which then makes this a bit easier lol hope that helps!
